why did Slater want to hook up with the psycho-chick from "Friends Till The End"?

come to think of it, Sherie looked a teeny bit like Shannen. Maybe Slater needs to step away from the Lifetime Movie Network.

vanda 10-24-2003 01:49 PM

Did I hear Slater wrong, but didn't he say the reason he hadn't hooked up with Sharie was because he was a virgin and wanted the first time to be special but he ends up hooking up lip ring Lauren at his party?

Robbie- The kid needs therapy. He has too much rage in that wee little body.

"opportunity to fail"

I think the greatest benefit of undergrad fraternity life is the "opportunity to fail", and hopefully to learn from it.

Wednesday's show had several oportunities to fail, and I hope the guys learned from it.

I suspect we've all made commitments (like the pledge who offered to help pay for the kegs), and when we turned around to get our followers support, they had disappeared. A lesson learned, I'm sure.

The bros. have really put the pledges to the edge, by trashing their house. The pledges are going to have to dig deep, and see if the benefits of brotherhood are worth the effort it'll take to clean the house. Making the pledges watch while it was trashed was really cruel, but it makes the test a lot harder. It comes at a real bad time, too, as the pledges return from a pledge trip which totally failed to unite the pledge class.

Or maybe (and this is what makes the show interesting to me) the pledge class was unifiied by the trip - with the two party-boys on the outside. The party-boys are not going to help clean the house, and I think they'll be gone next week.

And has skinny Robbie shaped up? He was totally quiet this week.

I'm saving my blackball, of course, for the fat kid. He's not the fraternity type.

I like Jon - I think he's the type that would be able to change DOC around....after they finish trashing the house for the hell of it. I mean come'on -- does that REALLY teach them about bonding?? UGH.

Snoozing through the other crap -- what a horrible show. Both SL3 and FL2 are snoozers.

Turn on SL3 and hear Carmen whine*whine*makeracistcomments*whine*blameotherpeo ple*whine*whine*cryandactallinnocent*whine*whine*

Turn on FL2 and hear Robbie whine*whine*letmeuseallmyfoulwordsatoncetolooktoug h*whine*gonnadepledge*whine*iwanttobeabrother*whin e*gonnadepledge*whine*whine*bealittlebitch*whine*b ealittlebitchsomemore*whine*letmeattackmyownpledge brothersformystupidity*whine*whine*stillbeingalitt lebitch*whine*whine*

Kevin is a hottie -- reminds me of young Kevin Bacon in Footloose

Dang - gotta agree with Toad on the Slater issue - definitely woulda been an ideal time to suggest a "communal love" situation. Of course I also half expected to see a dead rabbit cooking on the stove when psycho left with her belt!!

I was hoping they'd list who was involved with the parties at the Santa Barbara trip.

One of my nieces is a Kappa at SB - and I am so VERY thankful I did not see her in any of the footage.
:::shudder:::

Jon is a honest kid. He's not afraid to speak his mind. And as for The House Trashing Bit, It didn't teach them about bonding. It taught The Pledges not to Bitch and whine about Cleaning the house after the Brothers use their house for parties.

Oh my gosh- kevin is such a cutie!

I didn't see the big deal about throwing down $ for a keg. Some of those guys need to loosen up a little bit.

They are making those guys drop like flies! Too bad they got kicked off campus.

Hell Week at DOC

I was ready to kiss off all the brothers. This public humiliation (clothes, carry items) of the pledges is so contrary to everything GLOs and I believe in. It serves them right that two depledged.

Then as the show closes, they send the pledges off to contemplate the future, and if they want to continue. I suspect this will turn the remaining pledges into a solid unified group, so I'll give them another week.

I assume that CA has a hazing law. Surely if pledges are wearing crazy clothes and carrying junk and one has a watermelon on his head, some professor or administrator (or cop) sees this.

Maybe that will be the series finale - cops burst in with guns blazing to stop the last night of hell week.

butterfly2001nc 11-20-2003 11:53 AM

what happened on last night's episode??

WhirlwindTNX 11-20-2003 12:14 PM

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but check out DOC's website under galleries....they have a rush commerical. I've never seen one of those before.

Anyway, check it out. Too bad they didn't have it up before Fraternity Life 2 started because then we would have gotten a better feel for how they run things.

what's the link?

PsychTau 11-20-2003 01:37 PM

From DOC website.....
Quote:

In 1991, visionary students at the University of California, Santa Cruz set out to create a unique fraternial society that would provide sophisticated, friendly, diverse and safe social environments to complement their educational development.

A safe social environment....which episode was that?

Quote:

...Today DOC is recognized as the oldest local fraternity still in existence in the nation...

Whoops....missed that episode too. Can someone give me the recaps?
:p

They're talking about the nation of Santa Cruz, right? There are local fraternities in the Northeast that have been around since the 1800's.

I saw that commercial twice and I wanted to scream. I wonder if the guy who was speaking was drunk, stoned or both.

I wonder if this was used in an attempt to regain recognition after being suspending for the Koi incident.

I'm bumping this thread.

I just got MTV Canada on my digital cable and lst night I watched Fraternity Life 2 (I'm guessing we're a little behind in episodes, or they are showing reruns). Anyway, what's up with the Pledgemaster?! He looks like he's part of the Aryan Nation.

I laughed the whole way through. This show is hilarious.
