Tonight is another rush event with APO, broomball at the ice rink on campus! And on Monday and Tuesday, there will be official pinning-in! I'm going to the broomball event but I'm pretty sure that I'm going to pledge APO. I like the brothers and what they stand for. So on Monday, I will officially be a pledge of APO!

I was in a fraternity at The University of Texas, whose greek system could be referred to as being elitest. A popular misconception is that you are limited to being friends with the girls in your sorority exclusively. That is not the case for people who are confident, and not caught up in that notion. Also, to tell you the truth, most guys don't really give a shit about what sorority a girl is in as long as she is "cool." This is coming from someone who was in a popuar fraternity that did not limit himself to the people that I pledged with, saying that, I feel as though I gained much more from my college experience. If you worried about your religious beliefs, if your faith is strong enough, nothing will deter you.

PS I once was an altar boy, so I am very familiar with faith

Today is bid day! Even though I'm not taking place in all of the festivities, I'm soo happy for my girls in my pi chi group! I hope I'll be able to post what sororities they went to soon (Bids were give out around 1:15-2:00). I can't wait for tomorrow for pinning in. And, just maybe, I may rush a certain group during spring rush....

breathesgelatin 09-21-2003 03:57 PM

ooh, can't wait to find out how pinning goes!!

Good luck on your decision with spring rush, as well! :)

PHI MU is having a pretty great year because another one of the girls went PHI MU!!!

She really loves them and really wishes i joined. and Im oh so very happy for her. I'm now waiting to find out where the other 7 went

so far:

It is so cool to see the Greek letters in your signature! Also, it's great that your friends went to all those different sororities. The ZTAs were the smallest sorority on campus when I was there (long long ago) but strong sisterhood and wonderful girls. A bunch of us lived on the ZTA floor as freshman (4th floor Ritner), and the ZTAs were such as great example of sorority life that we all decided to go through rush (even though none of us had come to PSU with that idea in our heads). I'm so glad to hear they're doing well now!

Any idea of 1) what quota was and 2) how did ASA do?

From what I've heard, quota was 20 and since ASA is one of the most popular sororities on campus, ASA probably got quota.

PSUSigKap 09-22-2003 06:09 PM

hey ladies,
quota was 19. sigma kappa got quota + 2 juniors. we're totally psyched!!! my girls totally didnt' know i was a sigma kappa. the looks on their faces during the reveal was classic!!! most of my girls were happy with where they ended up so that was good. being a pi chi was one of the best experiances that i've had in the greek community. i wish i wasn't graduating in may so i could do it again! ;)
