Phi Delta Theta will be colonizing at New Jersey Institute of Technology in Spring 2024.

The IU chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha has been suspended by its national organization. This comes on the heels of Delta Upsilon's suspension by its national headquarters.

(What the heck is going on at my alma mater?)

They had an instillation ceremony too, and 55 members were part of the new chapter class. Congrats!

closure

Recently, the Nu Beta chapter of Phi Mu Delta at the Un. of New Hampshire closed. Nu Beta was one of the original chapters when Phi Mu Delta became a Greek letter fraternity after operating on several campuses as a Commons club.

fmanning 01-06-2024 12:37 PM

closure

The national office of Phi Mu Delta announced that the Nu Xi chapter at the University of Southern Maine has closed due to low numbers.

fmanning 01-06-2024 12:39 PM

The Mu Rho chapter of Phi Mu Delta at Shawnee State University in Ohio closed due to low numbers.

Reactivate

The national office of the Phi Mu Delta fraternity has issued a request to the alumni of the Mu Epsilon chapter to work to re-open their recently closed fraternity at Penn State University.

g41965 01-07-2024 11:17 AM

That is a lot of closed chapters for a small fraternity.

fmanning 01-08-2024 05:51 PM

Reactivate

If you look for Phi Mu Delta under Wikipedia you will find a well written history of this great fraternity and a huge listing of chapters both active and inactive. For the New England zone, there are only 2 active chapters now. Not on the list of chapters are some colonies that closed before receiving a charter, among them being Alabama and Marshall University. Plans are being formulated to attempt reactivation of several inactive chapters.

g41965 01-08-2024 09:45 PM

Best of luck!

Hard to keep a chapter at a school where local clubs are the be all and end all of the social scene.

Cookiez17 01-30-2024 04:21 PM

There was an article about the chapter closure that was discussed here recently:

I'm told they caused all kinds of trouble, trying to mold Pi Phi into their idea of a sorority. So many Pi Phis are celebrating their departure!

Hoping you guys can start again in the future with a great group of women!

PKT4LIFE 01-31-2024 09:30 PM

Per a lengthy State of the Fraternity letter (and I mean lengthy with absolute transparency and no holds back) from our National President, we will be returning to Texas A&M (Epsilon Alpha) and Cal State Fullerton "The Barn" (Gamma Omicron) during Fall 2024.

JayhawkAOII 02-05-2024 11:20 AM

The AOII chapter at Youngstown State University will close at the end of the spring semester 2024. Wondering what the status of the other chapters on the campus are or Greek life in general. Is the campus facing the same issues that other regional universities are experiencing with enrollment? Just looking at the recruitment numbers, it seems like there is parity, but I certainly don't know the whole story.

PGD-GRAD 02-05-2024 07:22 PM

There are 4 NPC chapters at Youngstown: AOPi, AXiD, DZ and ZTA. Not sure about numbers. There are also 2 NPHC groups: AKA and DSTheta.

LaneSig 02-14-2024 11:49 AM

Zeta Phi Beta is returning to Baker University(KS).

Alpha Epsilon Pi has been closed at the University of Michigan due to RMF.

Sigma Phi Epsilon has been closed at Davidson College(NC) due to RMF.

I'm excited to see how Stony Brook unfolds. There are only 4 IFC chapters and 3 NPC sororities (with Theta Phi Alpha being on suspension.) The sororities have totals around 90, and the new member totals for the chapters were in the 20's, so a new sorority would be good.

As for SDSU, it would be interesting if they decide to do a stacked expansion rather than just adding an extra chapter. I can't wait to see who presents!

Per SB Theta Phi Alpha 2/13 IG post, they have 19 new members. Not sure if they are still on suspension.

They are currently on probation. SBU's FSL site isn't saying why.

Per Alpha Phi’s Facebook page, we are starting a chapter in fall 2024 at the University of Arkansas!

That's awesome! I was mentioning how huge the PC #'s had been and with Alpha Gam deciding not to start a chapter, they needed a new house. Good luck in the fall!! :D

Where will they be housed?

Reading the "other site" (and again these are rumors.) they could be on Maple or Frisco.

carnation 02-17-2024 09:16 AM

If they build on Maple, they will have one square foot of space.
