Sonoma State update: Total could only be re-set to 120, per NPC's rules. (I understand that NPC is meeting now to discuss how to approach the Spring semester. I would imagine there are other campuses where total is now at unacheivable levels, Iowa State comes to mind) As for the chapters at Sonoma, I saw an e-mail from the chapter adviser of one of the strongest chapters on campus to the Greek Life director stating how unachievable and riduculous the 120 figure is. (I think the largest chapter is probably in the mid 90s, if that high.)
More numbers from the Sep Formal Recruitment: Alpha Xi Delta 9 Alpha Delta Pi 9 Alpha Gamma Delta 11 and AOII picked up another new member right after formal rush ended, so they have 14. |

Trying to get numbers for UCLA. Recruitment was all virtual. NO chapter posted NM class photos or numbers (bid day or since) on social media (Instagram pages are current, twitter accounts and Facebook pages seem to be abandoned years ago).
2019 NM quota was 53, but quota additions got many chapters to 70+ NMs. The number of women who went thru Recruitment was down from past years. From numbers I do know, it looks like 2020 NM quota was in 40s, with much fewer quota additions (more quota additions were from chapters being under total after Recruitment, either from large number of 2020 seniors who graduated in June or younger members who did not return to UCLA this fall). Hopefully, Panhellenic will lower chapter total. Current chapter total is 190, but it would serve Panhellenic to adjust it to 175 so the couple of chapters that need to catch up in members could do it in a shorter amount of time. This would also aid with Tri Delta recolonizing sooner, as they are eligible in 2021. (Previously, Alpha Xi Delta had a time limit to recolonize. I believe it was within 3 years of AGD recolonizing, and that time has passed.) |

I read that DG's Alpha Sigma chapter has a 2020 NM class of 54. I do not know that current chapter total. |
Per an NPC decision this summer, all Fall 2020 totals must be set at Fall 2019 total unless the total set the normal way (median chapter size or whatever that campus does after recruitment) results in a higher total for Fall 2020. So, UCLA is still 179.

Question: Usually at this time of the year there are all kinds of posts about rush from campuses that defer: IU, Butler, Vandy and Ohio State come to mind; I know there are many others.
Any news? Is rush still at this time of the year? All virtual? Any numbers of sign-ups? We all need diversions, and these events generated lively discussions. Any updates? |
