Some movies on your list I have not seen nor contain the desire to do so. I won't snatch your Black card yet if by Christmas 2004 you see the following movies:

Roots
imitation of life
The Five Heartbeats
Miracle on 34th street
Menace II Society

Yeah, we have tons of Blockbusters. But I will promise to see these movies by Christmas, although Roots might be pushing it because of the length. I just saw Boyz N Tha Hood and Scarface this year. :o

CrimsonTide4 10-27-2004 07:04 AM

Boyz N The Hood came out the summer of my 16th birthday so you get a pass on that one.

Roots do 2 by 2 -- there are 6 tapes. I am a Roots conoisseur. I hope someone knows I would love that as a gift. :D

MeezDiscreet 10-27-2004 12:08 PM

this thread crossed my mind last night and it's funny the things you remember. i remember my dad taking me to see krush groove, e.t., and the last dragon as well as boyz n the hood (my sister and i tricked him into seeing that one). of course, i was so young when e.t. and krush groove came out, i doubt i was awake throughout the whole movie but i can definitely remember going with my dad. actually, i've never been able to stay awake long enough to watch all of e.t.

beauty_6049 10-27-2004 07:38 PM

I have never seen:

1. Star Wars
2. Amistad
3. Roots (I know that's bad)

Imperial1 10-31-2004 08:53 PM

Superfly
Amistad
Beloved(I saw bits and pieces but never the whole thing.)
Passion of the Christ(no desire to see it.)
Lord of the Rings sequels
Wildstyle(I NEED to see it cause it's hip hop.)

Imperial1

to be quite honest, i really could care less.....it looks interesting, though. i did hear it was kinda lame, i think with all of those supposed epics..they never live up to the hype (ie troy).

See now, why you have to clown me for watching the TV editions. Besides, ET included additional footage. :p Although I would not know what was additional since I did not see the original. :o

LMAO, ET is on right now so I am watching it. I have not seen it in years. :) 2 movies down and like 100 more to go. This weekend would be perfect to watch Roots, 2 tapes a day. If you lived 600 miles closer, I would come watch with you.

This weekend is ALL about writing my research paper for HR. I will listen to/watch Harry Potter 1, 2, and 3. Roots will have to be put on hold, at least for now.

Fee is still telling me off. It all started last night when I admitted I had not seen #1.

Thanks CT4 for my two gold stars! LOL

Dvyne Evolushun 07-12-2005 01:30 PM

Any of the old Star Wars movies (I went to the most recent one and was lost).
Six Degrees of Separation (I don't want to see this. I love me some WS, but he's playing too many of these roles for me... 6 degrees, the gypsie in WW West, the kiss in Hitch, the funky little booty dance on the BET awards...)
Any of the Godfather movies
Jungle Fever
Bamboozled

Conskeeted7 11-14-2005 12:14 PM

I''m trying to cut my list down, but it's still pretty bad.

I've never seen:
any of The Godfathers
Scarface
Menace 2 Society
Don't be a Menace to Society (I think that's what it's called)
Purple Rain
Pretty Woman
Sleepless in Seattle
Jungle Fever
Krush Groove
Beloved
any of the Star Wars movies
Superfly
Shaft
The Green Mile
Sparkle
Lady Sings the Blues

nikki1920 11-14-2005 12:39 PM

Ditto to above minus Pretty Woman and Purple Rain.

I've also never seen The Wiz, The Five Heartbeats, or The Last Dragon.

And yes, I am Black.

LOLOLOL!

Well, I HAVE seen E.T. , Star Wars, Gone With the Wind, Lethal Weapon (all of them) AND the Sound of Music.

I have NOT seen:

Any Godfather movies
Batman 4 or whatever(i think after part 1, they all suck.)
Pulp Fiction
Saw part of Friday (didn't think it was that funny)
The Mummy
Saving Private Ryan
Baby Boy
Mission Impossible 2 (after ANY part 1 movie, I think subsequent parts suck)
The Last Dragon
Basic Instinct
American Pie 2
Devil in a Blue Dress
City Slickers
etc.

Many of these movies came out and either I was not allowed to go out when I was in high school, or do not have the luxury of going out to the movies and spend some extra cash, now that I am in college. However, I do plan on catching up and watching some of them that I missed
:) :D

To update my previous list (now that OUT OF COLLEGE) :)

Any Godfather movies (best movies I've seen)
Batman 4 or whatever(i think after part 1, they all suck. - this is still true)
Pulp Fiction (it was pretty good)
I saw Friday (but didn't think it was that funny)
The Mummy (no interest)
Saving Private Ryan (sucked)
Baby Boy (alright)
Mission Impossible 2 (after ANY part 1 movie, I think subsequent parts suck)
The Last Dragon (aiight)
Basic Instinct (aiight)
American Pie 2 (aiight)
Devil in a Blue Dress (okay)
City Slickers (no interest)
Rudy (I finally saw and enjoyed it)
Love Jones (I FINALLY saw the entire thing - Loved it)

I still haven't seen (ducking):

*Roots
*The Color Purple
*Passion of Christ
*Harlem Nights
*Casablanca
*The Five Heartbeats (I have NO idea what this is; just added it to list since I saw it on this thread)

And the two movies (so far) that go on my WORST list that made it to the theater are:

*A.I. (...and 2,000 years passed - GIMME ME A BREAK!)
*American Werewolf in Paris (SPARE ME!)

If these movies are mentioned, I feel so passionately against them that I can spend the entire day criticizing them, lol.

oOogirlygirloOo 11-16-2005 12:58 AM

I've never seen

E.T.

Colors

Star Wars Trilogy

I love the dialogue in Casablanca. I'm a HUUUUUUUGE fan of B&W (TCM) films.
