Focus on the fact that you are still going to your top 2! So many other girls just wish that was the case for them....
Be positive!

Does anybody know what time is squeal?
What did quota end up being?
When/Where can we expect names and hometowns posted?

looney1 08-20-2011 10:24 AM

The PNM's report to the stadium at 945 this morning
Squeal is at 11
Brunch at the sorority houses after that!

Not sure when the list will be posted. It usually takes a few hours.

GeekyPenguin 08-20-2011 11:04 AM

Per a sister in Alabama, freshman quota is 73 and upperclassman quota is 7.

Last year, this was posted the Monday afternoon after recruitment, I believe.

Hmmm. A tad lower that last year.

Don't look for the bid list to be posted until Monday sometime, or even Tuesday. The UA News Bureau, which posts it, is off for the weekend!:p

violetpretty 08-20-2011 12:59 PM

About the "4 preference parties"...Were there 4 time slots allotted for preference parties (where PNMs could visit a maximum of 3 chapters) or was 4 the maximum number of preference parties a PNM could attend?

gphib_95 08-20-2011 01:24 PM

Gamma Phi got 101 beautiful new pledges!!!!!

33girl 08-20-2011 01:36 PM

Did this get merged with the haiku thread??

But with RFM they could have placed more women since quota can be adjusted to place the most women including QA's.

I think it was 72 and 5 last year....total number placed will be a better indication...

APhi4Ever 08-20-2011 04:06 PM

Quota last year was 83 Freshman and 5 Upperclassman. I highlight it because I don't want anyone to get confused :D

BAMA2 08-20-2011 04:37 PM

Regarding Pref Parties

According to the Alabama Panhellenic Website a PNM could attend up to three pref parties. The four parties are so the chapters can accomodate all the PNMs

Totally think it's hilarious that girls are tripping and falling down during the stampede scenes, LOL!

I actually felt bad for them. I hope none showed up at their new house with bloody and bruised knees .
I was standing outside the stadium and it was a mad house. My little friend didn't get a bid, but was so chill about the whole process that I think she OK with it. Wishing her happiness at UA.

FSUZeta 08-21-2011 03:11 PM

maybe she will take the opportunity to meet with delta gamma.

ADPi Diamond 08-21-2011 03:13 PM

I was in Tuscaloosa this weekend moving son in for his fresman year. We walked over to the stadium and watched the festivities. All I can say is WOW! (I took some photos but I don't know how to post them. I'd be happy to email them to someone else for them to post.)

I wrote one rec for UA recruitment and she pledged ADPi!!!!!

shirley1929 08-21-2011 03:21 PM

Hi all, I just got back from Tuscaloosa as well and my cute niece is a KKG! Bid Day is a whole other animal there. Our girls were extremely fortunate - everyone we knew got a home and everyone was thrilled. Lots of work (recs, grades etc...) had gone into a successful recruitment. Bid Day at Alabama is SO fun and quite the experience!

FSUZeta 08-21-2011 03:49 PM

yay for ADPi Diamond's rec. girl and for shirley1929's niece!

scrapinfificat 08-21-2011 04:02 PM

Bamamama14
I hope your little friend will consider the opportunity that DG is offering to those seeking a GLO home.

bamamama14 08-21-2011 05:29 PM

My UA friend interviewed with DG yesterday, I had sent her rec and info to them earlier in the week. She is so laid back and quite, that I think she may interview better than small talk. She went from 10 out of 11 philanthropy invitations to 2 skit day and 2 pref. Unfortunatly she did SIP on her bid choices, but seemed OK yesterday when she wasn't placed. She is a unique young lady, born to older parents, her Mom died when she was barely 3. She would benefit greatly by a sisterhood.
