I was disappointed that sharks didn't eat Jack when he jumped off the boat and was swimming back to shore. :P
He's starting to annoy me now. |

I've come to realize that the only other person we have not seen in the sideways timeline is the other researcher from Widmore's boat that came with Charlotte and Daniel, the Black English woman (I forgot her name:o). |
I forgot her name, too. But I liked her character. It took her like three episodes to die though lol
|
That's Naomi.
Hmm... I hadn't really thought about not seeing her in the sideways timeline. But admittedly, I had kinda forgotten about her. (We've not seen her since season 4.) |
^^^^
Thanks! Now I remember! I wonder if she will 'come back'? |
Well, her body was on the freighter when it blew up, so if she does come back, I'll be a little creeped out.

Oh yeah! I forgot that too...... But, she could 'come back' in the sideways version where the plane landed in LA. |
This site provides an interesting take on who THE candidate might be..
(Although not a definite spoiler, don't read if you don't want to ruin any potential surprises) http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/05/04/lo...wn-candidates/ |
What an episode. So sad. At least we know who isn't a candidate anymore... :(
|
IM SO MAD about Sun and Jin...ugghhh...I feel bad for their daughter..
|
I was screaming NO at the top of my lungs last night for several reasons...
but also a thought occurred to me. Could that boy we keep seeing and is looking at UnLock...could that be Aaron somehow? It was also nice to see Bernard. |
I definitely teared up a few times. Wahhhh! There can't be no more Jin and Sun!
|
Tonight's episode sounds exciting. I've spoiler-fonted anything that isn't considered open.
ABC's description of Across the Sea is simply, "The motives of John Locke are finally explained." Also, none of the regulars from the first five seasons will be in tonight's episode. It's Jacob-centric, and it features a woman who is speculated to be the mom of either Jacob or Man In Black. I think we'll definitely be getting some answers. Can't wait! :D |
I still have questions!!! Aaaarrrggghhh!!!! :frustrated:
|
now we know where the smoke monster came from and now the question is why
|
My speculations about the episode:
As usual, the underlying questions the episode posed are about destiny versus free-will -- does everything happen because it is supposed to or does it happen because we make it? One brother represents destiny, one represents self-determination. One represents obedience, one represents defiance. Prior to the fake-mother's interference (because she truly didn't believe in her heart that the right thing would happen without her intercession), neither Jacob nor the man in black were wholly good or bad. Both of them were hurting because she killed their real mother, but man in black was brave enough to strike out on his own. Jacob felt that the woman was all he had. I believe that the golden light represents hope, and the island is the cork keeping hope in the box like Pandora's box. Evil had already been unleashed into the world, but if the island keeps "hope" then it keeps it alive in all of us. If it leaves, then hope inside all of us dies and we are lost. |

This episode really made me like MiB more if I could ignore that he's killed so many people. What I couldn't figure out is if the smoke monster is really Jacob's brother, or if it took the form of Jacob's brother after he died? It could be that we still don't know the smoke monster's true identity. |
^^ I was wondering the same thing.

How come we haven't seen Benjamin Linus in a while? Did something happen to him? I can barely keep this show straight anymore. Thank God they recap it every week.
|
^^^ I've been wondering this too. and where did Richard go? Are Richard and Ben together? What about widmore? Did they all escape the wrath of the smoke monster? I think the smoke monster definately just took the form of Jacobs brother after the brother died. I think it can take the form of any dead body that's on the island. Remember MiB said he posed as Jacks dad, and Doc Sheperd Sr's body was on the island. He took the form of Lockes body as soon as it arrived on the island(s).
I dont care about Sun and Jin so much. They're fine in the flash-sideways. And we still don't know which reality is true. I was sad to see Sayid go though. he's always been my favorite... until he kinda went crazy this past season. And poor Lipedous...he didn't do anything be be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Oh... and why the shit didnt Kate tell Claire that Claires mom has Aaron safe and sound now? You'd think that would make Claire less of a nutjob. I suppose that would make too much sense... I've always thought Kate was a twit. |
cant wait for tonights ep! Its the last Tuesday LOST ep ever :(

What do you all think of Jack volunteering?
And whoa on all of the connections going on alt reality. I'm not sure how they're going to tie it all up on Sunday. Anyone know how long the episode will be?? |
Apparently I missed something, what happened to Miles? He went to hide but then wasn't there with Zoe and Widmore

Funny, though, Ben seemed to not care what happens to him anymore. He figures he's going to die anyway, so he's asking questions and doing pretty much whatever he (thinks smokey) wants him to do. |

Speaking of that combo, I think Ben and Miles got the best lines last night. |
As for Jack... good for him. I think it's always been him. I think he's the one who Jacob hoped would volunteer.
What about Desmond being a failsafe for Jack/the island? I didn't get that. I agree, I think Miles will get back to Widmore's body. Can't say I was sad to see Widmore go. |

Who then? Jacob performed the ritual, jack got an "all knowing" look on his face... no to Sawyer, he's too angry, no to Kate, she ain't got "it." Hurley? Desmond? If not Jack, then I'm going with Desmond.
|
Desmond was meant for something else. Hurley is interesting but not the "protector" type. Jack was set up to take this from since season 1.
1 more episode left. :( |

I just watched the pilot episode again. Jack had a 5 tattooed on his arm. I paid special attention to him because he is going to be Jacob's replacement (assuming nothing changes in the finale). As Kate was stitching him up on the beach, she said that he doesn't seem scared at all. Jack then launched into a story about a surgery he did on a 16-year-old girl where he accidentally cut the base of her spine where all the nerves come together. He said he let the fear in and let it take over, but only for five seconds. And he started to count.. One, two, three, four, five, and then it was gone. He sewed her up and she was fine. Later, Kate is running from the smoke monster, and doesn't realize that Jack went back to help Charlie who had fallen. She was alone and could still hear the smoke monster, and she, while crying, counted to five. Just a guess :D ... as is everything with this show! |
