It Takes a Village...

I posted this in the 2007-08 thread, but thought I would put it here too:

I emailed IP and asked if she wanted assistance filling in some missing chapter dates, etc., as I knew some information for my own university. She said she welcomed additional details to help make the database as accurate as possible.

I know that my GLO has a list of all chapters, with dates open/closed, on our website in the members only section. I have offered to compare that list to some of her missing information.

So... I have Kappa Alpha Theta covered. Anyone else willing to offer assistance with your GLO? As I scan the database, all GLOs are needed, but I have noticed several missing dates with Alpha Phi, Gamma Phi and ZTA, and I am only up to the California chapters so far.

Yay... IP is back!

(PS- Irishpipes... your PM box is full....)

gphiangel-

Thanks for your help but actually I have that information (the schools and chapters.) If a particular state has no data yet it is just because I haven't copied it over yet from last year's thread to this year's thread. It takes a while and I have to just go one state at a time. Again, thanks, but I don't want you to go to a lot of trouble for data I already have. Thanks!

(Specific recruitment dates are appreciated though!!!)

Thanks,

IP

I went to the 2001 Convention, and Omicron (UC-Berkeley) had already been resolved, so the closing would have to be around 2000-2001 (can't remember).

Based on old GC posts, Alpha Beta (Michigan) was reinstalled in 2001 (Michigan Alpha Gams, please correct me if I'm wrong!!!).

I need to look at Berkeley again. I was using the Sister Search on the website and it was tough to figure out Alpha Beta. They had a lot of 2000 initiates listed but only 5 in '99 and 3 in '98. I figured 2000 was the year they reinstalled, but didn't know the history.

My Chapter Advisor when I was initiated was from Berkeley, and I remember she was devastated when Omicron closed. It had to have been 2000 or 2001 because the statement announcing the resolution was a part of my 2001 Convention materials.

I think you're right about Alpha Beta in 2000. There was a really beautiful article about the reinstallation in the Spring 2001 Quarterly. Dee or LionInMI will know for sure!

[/sorry for the hijack, Irishpipes!]

Theta Updates

IP-

Your Theta info is very thorough. Here are the only things that need updating:

Our three colonies from last school year have been chartered.
OH- Case Western, Eta Pi, 2007
VA- James Madison, Eta Rho, 2007
CA- Chapman, Eta Sigma, 2008

Also, with Pitt... your database indicates a break with that chapter "1915-?/?-1999." According to our website, which lists all closings and re-charterings, there was no break. It simply lists the chapter as 1915-1999.

Unless honeychile or kddani knows of something different, I would say go with "1915-1999."

Embry Riddle - Prescott, AZ does COR (no formal recruitment) and campus total is 30.

Chi Omega Xi Lambda 1989
Kappa Kappa Gamma Zeta Tau 1990
Pi Beta Phi Virginia Theta 1992

Here are the edits for W&L:

Campus total: 70 (99% sure that this is still accurate)
Quota last year = 37
Pi Beta Phi got 40 last year with quota additions. Other groups were all at quota or above but I don't know the specific numbers. I'll go back and check my archives and see if I can find them.

Formal recruitment this year is January 5-9.

The Kappa Delta chapter was founded in 1997.

Also, Kappas please correct me, but I'm almost positive the KKG chapter was installed in 1989, same as Chi-O and Theta. They all conducted recruitment in January 1989, and I can't imagine that Kappa installed in 1990... but maybe. ETA: Just checked the W&L chapter website and it says 1989.... http://www.kkgwlu.com/page.php?page_id=13443

Alpha Delta Pi will be colonizing in January 2009 DURING formal recruitment.
