I disaffiliated with my NPC sorority. I wish they would say that before you initiate into the sorority. I had no idea that there was no way out, even if it was the sororities fault. That seems highly unfair. What if the chapter didn't do anything while other sororities did? What if they harrassed or completely gave a girl the silent treatment to force her out? What about that? There should be a way to petition it.

Did you disaffiliate as a new member/pledge or as a sister, after initiation? If you disaffiliated as a NM/Pledge, you can affiliate with another NPC group, but must wait the 1 year before doing so.

Well, lucky for me, my active membership didn't run like that. It was actually in February that I became an active member but whatever. I didn't come here looking for your sympathy, I just came here to ask a question. Thanks to those who provided me with helpful answers to my questions.

Did you already resign? Is it too late to work harder to improve your experience with the group that you joined?

We've talked about this on here before - LOTS of people (including posters on here) experience "post pledging letdown" and wonder if they made the right decision. You're not a special pledge anymore with a big and a NM educator looking after you, you're a sister and it's up to YOU to make the most of your sorority experience. I'm not sure how your chapter "let you down", but did you let them know that you felt that upset?

Maybe Kappa looks great to you but trust me, there are women in that chapter who are going through the same thing. Nothing is that perfect unless all the members are too stupid to get mad or have feelings or opinions. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

You have had a very short amount of time as an active to make this decision. Check with your sisters and see if your termination did go the whole way through (nationals can be sloooooow about this stuff).
