I had a good friend that once we both graduated from college and moved from the Lou, we lost contact. Then one day she called me to update me on her "life." She said she was married and had four kids. During the conversation she would sometimes interrupt it and say something to the kids or her husband. However, I never heard their voices in the background. Then a couple of years later, she called me to say she had lost her husband and kids in a house fire--she was the only one who survived. I asked my mother about is (she was friends with this soror's mother) and she said the mother never mentioned that to her. Then a few years later she called to say she had had a brain tumor, but the surgery had cured her. Her last call--about ten years ago--was that she was living in FL with her new husband who was an Arab and filthy rich, but he was cheating on her and she was so hurt. She was in real estate and a soror I knew worked with her. I finally asked her about all of this and she told me none of it was true. So I learned that there are people out there who have a great need for sympathetic attention. |

There are crazy people. I've had people make up tragedies and other things to get attention or to explain away certain things.
For instance, if someone is ridiculed for being a loser, they may suddenly show up with a story to tell about how they've become popular and even found a mate. Then they might make up a tale about they have decided to start a family. But if it doesn't pan out for whatever reason, such as people starting to ask for details or wanting to invite the family to events, tragedy usually strikes. Tragedies include the mate disappearing suddenly or the other aspects of the family having a tragic end. |

I find it ironic that the same person who was compelled to confirm my membership in Kappa wouldn't think to confirm my story with other NUPES I shared it with, particularly ones in my chapter. |
This is just too sad for words.:(

I just have eyebrows raised at why a person who is sooooo vocal about everything else, wouldn't have mentioned that he was going to be a father sooner. I could have missed that thread, but if there was none, then that doesn't seem in line w/RM's personality. Hmmmmm...plus its just a matter of track record. If RM didn't seem to thrive off of being the wackiest person around, then I would take it more seriously. I sent up a prayer either way, so whether God is consoling a mourning father or sending help to someone who is disturbed, blessings are coming in either event.
