<Crosses fingers (and toes, for good measure)>
How many can you be invited to for the next round (Pref)? When is it? |

So Tara Reid cut me so there has been a lot of tears this morning. I'm still going to prefs but I highly doubt I'm going to put anything on my bid card. I don't want to join a sorority just to join a sorority, I want to join the right one for me and the choices I have left really aren't right for me.
|
But there is still K-Fed.

Littlecarebear, I know that you are urting. But remember, in any sorority, there will be girls you like, and others you don't. Think carefully before you withdraw. If you go to prefs, notice the other girls who are there... they could be your pledge sisters. If you totally dislike all of them, that is one thing, but if there are girls that you think you could become friends with, well, are you sure that you want to rule out sororitylife?

I was pretty devastated when I was cut from a chapter (XYZ) that I was in love with right before pref, but after joining SK and getting to know the XYZs better in a natural setting, I know I wouldn't have fit in with XYZ.
Strangely, I had deja vu when I was a Rho Gamma last spring visiting their chapter during skit round. It brought up the same feelings I had experienced three years ago, of feeling like I fit just because of how the members treated me and my RG buddy, and how their skit portrayed them as a diverse, hilarious, outgoing group of women. I had to remind myself of how they are outside of recruitment, and how chapters want to have as broad appeal as possible so they have their choice of PNMs. It really stung when I got cut from XYZ, but I am so glad they did, because I would not have been happy there. Try to make the most out of your preference parties today. You might see K-Fed as your home, since you seemed to have enjoyed them lately. Have fun today and I hope you make the best decision for you. |
LittleCareBear, you have displayed a great attitude and I'm glad you are going to your pref parties. Try to keep an open mind and really see what the girls are all about. Rush can be deceptive. If there's no connection, don't rank, but who knows - maybe you will see something you didn't see before. Good luck!

LittleCareBear, go to the K-Fed pref party. At least give them a chance. If they give you a bid take it and see how things go. Try it for a while and see if it is for you. Just don't just write them off now. If it doesn't work out then drop out before initiation. Good luck to you.

PLEASE give them a chance. Remember, if they invited you to pref., they want YOU. They see something they really like in YOU - so see if you can't see yourself with these women. Trust me (and hundreds of other sorority women) sometimes the chapter can see where you would fit in a little clearer than you can - that's what we mean when we say you'll end up where you are meant to. I hope that is what happens for you!

This is one of those rare instances when K-Fed could be a good thing!! ;)
|
Oh no! I am so sad for you!!
You should definitely give the other two houses a chance, though. You might be really surprised! I have enjoyed reading your story so much I know that you must be a very intelligent and fun person to be around, so whatever chapter gets you is very very lucky! I really wish you good luck and I hope it works out. I never thought I'd say this but, thank goodness for K-Fed! ;) |
