My big and I have stayed pretty close, especially since we've been out of school a long time now and live three hours apart. We didn't pick each other originally, but I think it wound up being a good match.

I have three littles, two of whom I was very close to in school and who I do stay in contact with, but mostly by email. My third little I took my senior year and that was a mistake. I was too caught up in graduating and getting into grad school to be really involved.

My big sis is awesome, we just reconnected a couple of years ago, and we partied like (aging) rock stars last homecoming!:D

The relationship between my big and me is confusing at best. Bigs are supposed to teach their littles, but my big never really got around to doing that. In fact, I hardly ever saw by big during my associate period. Every bit of information I needed I had to get from someone else in the chapter. I hung out more with my grandbig and learned what I had to learn on my own and with the other people in my class. Things got awkward when it turned out we both wanted the same office. That whole thing fell through, but then I was nominated to run against him for another office. I won. That just made things even worse.

Then I got my little, incidentally assigned to me by my big, and that turned out to be an absolute disaster. I taught him pretty well, even the president of my chapter said that. The problem was that he just wasn't interested in the end. He didn't make grades for two quarters in a row and that pretty much spelled his doom. After talking with me, he eventually quit on his own.

So yeah, I'm not big on Big/Little relationships at the moment.
