The best bra I ever bought was during my first pregancy. I splurged and went to Nordstrom and actually got fitted for a minimizer bra. I don't even remember the brand, but I never had a bra fit so well and make me look so good in my clothes. I bought 3 of them and wore those things out. :D

Of course, after kids, I can't justify the expense, and I am not sure ANY bra will help my poor "ladies" now! :o

I also find that the underwires in VS bras constantly pop out - and I'm not talking about your old crappy weekend bra, I'm talking brand new ones, on a pretty regular basis. I wear a 36D or DD depending on the style, so it's not like I'm a 45D that VS doesn't fit.

This just happened to me today  I have a new VS bra that I have worn literally three times, and this morning I noticed that the underwire is already popping out.

That's irritating. Speaking from experience, make sure you return it sooner rather than later or you'll face a lot of questions from the manager. They're pretty picky about the time limit for returns/exchanges.

Boo to them. If you are still in WI I know the store at Brookfield tends to be a little more lenient with returns.

I found Wacoal's on clearance last time I was at Macy's and got 3 for $100 - I was soooo happy!

Wow, I have never had trouble with Victoria's Secret, and I generally consider shopping there to be a splurge! The BEST bra I've ever owned is their Angels Secret Embrace. I also used to work at Gap Body and I was a fitting specialist so I would measure myself...and imagine my shock when I found that instead of being the 34A I'd always thought myself to be, or even the 36B I had bumped up to during pregnancy, I measured at a full THIRTY-SIX D. Crazy. The only problem is that breastfeeding causes your boobs to fluctuate a full cup size throughout the day so I round down. :D

umm.. Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual Sale starts tomorrow... for those of you who complain that their prices are too high

Thank you for that tip! I tried returning it at Bayshore and they were pretty much like "too bad, you're out of luck." But then I took it to Brookfield and received credit :)

I also tried and fell in love with Wacoal recently.

Back to the OP - now that you're single, cute bras don't matter. Go for comfort - yay for another reason to be single...:)

LOL-- good point! Although you could argue that now that I'm single, that's all the more reason to have cute bras!!! ;)

I'm excited. I found the "one" bra from there that I love and I will be buying several now. I'm at the top of their size range for the style though

Yay, I'm glad it worked for you! How is Bayshore now that they have remodeled and fancified? I'm living in the middle of nowhere this summer and Bayshore is the shortest drive for me but I've never really gone there before.

only problem is I went apeshit at the store :(...got 7 bras, a tankdress, shorts, sweatpants, 3 lotions, 2 bodywashes, a body spray, a bag, and concealer

Brita 06-21-2007 04:09 AM

Ok so I have never had a bra fitting before. Where is the best place to go (and don't say VS! haha). How exactly do they do the fitting??

adpiucf 06-21-2007 12:32 PM

Go to any major dept store like Macy's, Dillards, etc., and ask the woman in the lingerie dept to measure you for bra size. She'll take a tape measure and take your measurements over your clothes to calculate bra cup and band size. It takes 2 seconds. :)
