LGBT DV is very real... and SO underreported...

True, I don't think all people who fit in that "hedonist" category are trendy, just that they're separating sex and pleasure from emotional attachment. They may only be attracted to men (or women) but they don't care who they bump uglies with. It's not exactly an official category, just one that seems to fit. Oh, and Cosmo UK just did an article about LUGs and also brought up the term heteroflexible.

There are a few topics for Drolefille's class. I agree that violence in lesbian relationships is very undereported.

(FYI, I'm Catholic, I'm marrying a Catholic in a Catholic ceremony. I am not bashing the church. I just think it's an underreported subtopic.)

Let us know how the class goes, Drolefille.

Thanks! We had a special presentation on Transgender/sexual issues Tuesday and I'm loving the class. I agree that there's an underreported issue of lesbian and gay activities and violence within the Church. How much, I'm not so sure. It's hard to tell. I'll look into it :)

Yeah, I really really wish I had more than an hour for my presentation as I have to cover so much (or at least I want to) and I hate presentations so that should tell you something ;)

susan was onto something with those questions, i don't know wth happened when i answered what i believed the test to be asking, but err...it gave me 50% kinsey 5

2, yes, ok, but i'm not into chicks like a level 5 would be :P some serious flaws with this test (or maybe it's because i suck at interpreting the questions)

I wouldn't say the test is particularly accurate. Kinsey didn't really use one if I recall correctly. He primarily used interviews.

BTW, if anyone has any more topics for my presentation, let me know. I have to present in a few weeks so I'm actually starting to focus on it now. I did get an interesting DVD from an advocacy group that I'd like to show for part of the class period.

Hey, where's all the Kinsey 3-6's? :( :p

Wait, you're in DC?

Did you go see Frenchie at Black Pride?

neosoul 06-14-2007 09:31 PM

I worked Black Pride, saw Frenchie and Monica at the convention center

1) A can mean allies or asexual
2) transsexual is an outdated term. "transgender" is much more appropriate
3) intersex is the modern term for hermaphrodite (which is also now outdated)
4) the original post's reference to "really [enjoying] certain sorority activities" makes me wonder if the poster is male?

T can also mean Two-Spirited.

And isn't that an awfully gender biased statement from someone who is apparently pretty aware of gender issues.

Welcome to GC

ok if gender =/= sex, i would think that transsexual and transgender are not interchangeable terms. they are two different things, no?

ETA: nevermind, guess you learn something new everday! (but i dunno, in mymind the 2 are seperate)
