You know, I thought about that right after I posted...ah, well. I guess I'll just have to live in anticipation. :D

What schools are still doing recruitment out here? All the AZ schools are done. USC done. UCLA is done.
But then again I'm thinking "big schools" (ie. I know their name) and there's TONS of schools in Cali that I have no idea about. LOL.

SwtSerenity, it's the positive attitude you have going through this recruitment that makes recruitment stories worth reading.

Good luck to you and Daisy, but it really does sound like you've achieved so much already. All the best to you!

hello!!! i'm done with classes for the day and i thought i stop by and chit chat.

my rho chi insisted that we must sign bids for both houses. actually, many/most rho chis that day echoed the same thought. there were many girls panicing about their decision to sign or not. they wanted to sign for their #1 pick; however, did not want to do so for their 2nd choice.

yes, i am at a school on the west coast!! and yes, it's CALIFORNIA!! ;)

only 3 more hours to go. that's a long time to sit here and wonder, so i'm off to do some laundry.

Thats odd, its one thing to put your choices on your preference card but I've never heard of being told to sign bid cards for all. from what I understood you still have the option of declining the bid if its given to you. Signing bid cards before you know if you got the house you want seems a bit off. Maybe thats just how my school does it...anyone else know more about this?

ETA: Being a student at a cali school I know most are done but there are a few schools that still have recruitment later in the semester, mainly because they start later (end of sept). A friend of mine goes to UC Riverside and I believe they just went through recruitment.

Maybe she got her terminology wrong and meant pref card.

At my school (in Calif.), which had a new NPC system established in 1996, we were told that by filling out our bubble sheets after preference, we were agreeing to accept a bid from any chapter we listed. There was no signing of a bid card, or "accepting" or "declining" bids after the fact. They also told us that we *could* SIP, but if so, we should be OK with the possibility that we would not get a bid at all. They also told us that we would not be elligible for COB if we were extended a bid at all, even to our #2. It was still being conducted that way when I was a rho chi in '99.

Me, too!!

We had to sign our Preference Card, and were told that we had to accept a bid from any sorority we had put down, but when given the Bid Card itself, we also had to sign to accept it. Sounds like a lot of semantics to me, though!

Hope you're partying hardy, SwtSerenity!!
