see to me it says that you are more supporting your child's decision than giving free advertising to schools...I didn't my school because of "advertising" or popularity..if I had I would have chosen UF, but I do not believe I would have been happy there.

I don't think my parents felt they were giving my school free advertising (but, in our [red]neck of the woods, it couldn't have hurt!), they were simply proud of their child, who had gotten into her first choice school. That's all, really.

That's the only reason my parents did it. They usually hate those things, but they were proud of my sister and I, and small window stickers were a way to show it.

So you can be befriended by a 30-something who can pass for 18 or whatever and tell all your deep dark secrets to about how much you hate your sorority and your sisters so she can write a trash tell all book...
