As for wearing another dress, they have the preliminaries, she probably wore a red dress for the the pre-lims and was saving this one for the actual competition.

I personally thought she was robbed. Her answers on the final two questions were amazing, but she got fourth. Yet, Japan, who didn't even answer her questions correctly (ie. she didn't answer what she was actually asked) made it to 1st runner up. WTF?!? That makes absolutely no sense to me.

I thought Puerto Rico's dress was absolutely hideous. I'm sorry as a judge I'd be looking at the dress and how they carry the dress off and what it looks like as a factor. Because let's face it they are all beautiful women so "looks" really can't be a determining factor. I mean during the swimsuit I was actually looking at how they were carrying themselves and if they looked like they actually ate.

I think this is probably why I appreciate the Miss America pageant more, because they do more interview questions, a talent portion and the girls recieve scholarships to continue their education.

Question (because I'm to lazy to look for the Miss USA thread), is Tara greek?

The whole Miss USA circuit has cut the interview portion to counting for very very little. It's all about the evening gown etc.

Why do some of the evening gowns in the pagents have to be so tacky looking? We all remember (or most of us) remember Miss Ohio's dress. The dress was so trashy. I liked Miss Japan's dress. Miss Switzerland's dress looks like what Elle Woods would wear. But, Miss Puerto Rico's dress, I'm sorry that that looks horrible.

I love Miss Japan's costume. I'm glad that she won for Best Costume. I think that she was robbed for Miss Universe, IMO.

So once again, why is it all right for plus sized women to be loud and proud about their size and criticizing the media about the lack of their people while it isn't okay for me to do so? I'm sure that if I was a size 14, then you'll all be applauding me for my site, my signature and my posts.

Dude. I am a size 14. I don't want to see somebody my size in a beauty pageant. It's not hot.

OK, seriously, there's a HUGE difference between weight and height. See if you can follow...

Women and girls are not killing themselves trying to become TALLER!!!!!!!!!!

We criticize the media and applaud women of "normal" weight because women and girls are starving themselves TO DEATH to try to be thinner.

It's not about pretty and fairness and what is attractive. It's a life and death issue. The worst you can do trying to become taller is break an ankle or something because your stilettos were too high!

Actually, there are some women (and men) who get leg extension surgery to make themselves taller (usually two or three inches). This is very painful and takes a year to recover. While death is rare, it IS possible that you're going to be confined to a wheelchair for life.

Yes but lets be frank, the number of women that do that is vastly lower than the number of women trying to starve themselves into that size 2

Yes, but that link didn't work, and it was Miss Global Teen Petite. This is Miss Petite International. They must be more elite, because their website actually works (not well, but it does work).;) :p

Eating disorders are rampant in this country, but that is not the media's fault.

What is even more of a danger to society is the amount of obesity and overweightedness. Its not okay to be fat just because people are protesting the media. There needs to more women that look like miss universe models, and less like they graze soley at fast food drive thrus. Obesity causes way more health problems in this country than a model.
