Whatever!! Those lame over da hill suburban women were jealous of a woman who said, "Hey, I am happy, I get what I want, in other words....I've got it going on and I will not be your puppet slouch."

I wish Star the best.

Star handled her business

I am so glad that Star was able to tell her side of this mess.:)

If I had been told 2 months ago that my contract was not going to be renewed I don't know if I would have been able to come to work and smile and play nice every day.

To sum it up, Star was fired and I am so mad at Babs for still pretending like Star quit.

This is the beginning of the end for The View.

I respect Star Jones Reynolds. I admire her for taking an ugly situation and making it better. I do think at times she got a lil big headed, but then who doesn't. I liked The View when it first started (Meredith, Joy, Star, and Debbie Matenoupolus (sp?) and Barbara), but after Debbie left, it went downhill for me. I haven't watched it since Elizabeth came on. She seemed like a plug in for a demographic, has no opinions of her own, and seems to be the annoying little sister trying to hang with the big girls. Barbara did do Star dirty and the ratings will show that people, whether or not they liked Star, do not like cattiness. I think adding Rosie is a bad idea, there will be no chemistry. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

So does this mean BGA has to get a job now? lol

Super Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams has been tapped to be the face of Louis Vuitton’s 2006 and 2007 fashion line of Italian suitcases and bags.

Pharrell will soon be featured in national advertisements surrounded by monogrammed Louis Vuitton suitcases. He will also be touting the new Innsbruck carryall bag.

Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director revealed the thought process of the fashion line’s new marketing campaign, via a press release statement sent to Vibe.com.

Comment "We brought to this campaign a touch of the street, elevated to a rich, modern chic that embodies the message of our ready-to-wear accessories and bags,” Jacobs said. “Working with beautiful, iconic, and powerful faces, we created compositions that boldly display Vuitton's exquisite, super-luxe style."

Skateboard P is scheduled to appear alongside supermodels like Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Daria Werbowy.

Pharrell's highly-anticipated album, In My Mind, is slated for a July 25 release on Star Trak/Interscope Records.

No one has mentioned that Lil' Kim is getting out Monday!! She'll be on house arrest for 30 days and then on 3 years probation.

We all agree that Star was done dirty. But I respect the fact that Star admitted that her wedding freebies were a bad idea. She even said that if she had to do it all over again she would do things differently. Did it annoy me personally, yes. However, I don't find it anymore annoying than the rest of the hosts and their antics. Now here's the million dollar question: Do any of you realistically feel that Star can carry her own talk show?

I also wonder if she can carry a show. I think she would work on BET or TVOne. With all this firestorm, I don't see network TV or CNN giving her a show. Even though Baba Wawa may have lied, she's still BW and she's still mainstream.
There have been jokes about it, but perhaps she and BGA could do a Connie-Maury situation.

I like her most of the time, but I don't think she could carry her own show. I agree with Steeltrap in that maybe on a black network she'll do okay.

I don't think that people will quit watching the show because Star left though. If the ratings do go down I think it will be more because of Rosie coming in then Star leaving.

I think her and BGA should do a reality show. I bet that ish would be hilarious.

It would be HAM-tastic, and I'd be tuned in to watch it. If Booby Beresford Brown and Whitney Elizabeth Houston can do a TV show, so can Starlet Marie Jones Reynolds and Al Scales Reynolds.

jitterbug13 06-30-2006 05:38 PM

Now, if Star/BGA were to do a Connie/Maury thing and it was canceled, would Star have to do a redention of "Thanks for the Memories"? :p And if they were to do a show, I would imagine it like when Tammy Faye Baker had a talk show with Jim J. Bullock (from Too Close For Comfort). :p

I also agree that Star may survive on something like BET/TVOne or even on Court TV. I don't know if she will for syndication.

Foxy can hear and Kim's getting out of jail. Whoooo-hooooo!!!! :)

What I don't understand is why BW got so bent out of shape when Star made her announcement. So what they gave her the option to tell people whatever she wanted to tell them - that's exactly what she did! Now they have a problem with it.

Whatever, obviously, they are afraid of looking bad. Sounds like a guilty conscience to me.

Star Jones Reynolds leaving 'The View' By DAVID BAUDER, AP Television Writer
30 minutes ago

Don't expect any smackdown between Rosie O'Donnell and Star Jones Reynolds on "The View." Reynolds said Tuesday she was leaving the show.

She told People magazine, "I feel like I was fired."

Rumors that she was leaving have intensified since the April announcement that Rosie O'Donnell would be replacing Meredith Vieira on "The View" in the fall.

O'Donnell had made several caustic remarks about Reynolds, saying that it was dishonest for her to talk about losing more than 100 pounds through diet and exercise without talking about gastric bypass surgery.

Reynolds, one of the original cast members of Barbara Walters' daily chatfest, made the announcement after the first commercial break of "The View" on Tuesday, saying the show had decided to move in a new direction.

"I'm not sure what the future holds," she said. "But I'm absolutely sure who holds the future."

Her announcement came on the same day that Lloyd Grove's gossip column in the New York Daily News headlined: "Star gazing may end soon for `View'-ers," and repeated one of O'Donnell's quotes about Reynolds.

Walters, after beckoning the studio audience to give Reynolds a standing ovation, indicated the timing was a surprise. She expressed her "sadness that it has turned out this way."

"I can't imagine how `The View' would have succeeded without you," she said.

Comic Joy Behar looked like she was shocked.

"Who am I going to fight with?" Behar said.

Reynolds replied: "Something tells me you will have somebody to fight with."

Brandy to fill in on The View (People.com)

I, a Delta of many words, don't know what to say on this one.

Could Star Jones Reynolds's replacement on The View be Brandy? The singer and actress will fill in on the ABC morning show next Wednesday and Friday, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The 27-year-old former Moesha star is currently a judge on America's Got Talent, an NBC reality show produced by American Idol's Simon Cowell. "America's Got Talent has really opened a lot of doors for me," she tells PEOPLE. "I want to do a lot more TV."

Her View stint could lead to a full-time job. "These tryouts are for consideration for the permanent gig," a source close to the situation tells PEOPLE. "They plan to have a few people trying out, like what CBS did (before hiring) Craig Ferguson for the Late Late Show."

On Thursday, One Life to Live actress Renée Goldsberry was the first guest host to fill in for Reynolds. Goldsberry was recruited "almost at the last minute," according to cohost and show creator Barbara Walters.

Goldsberry will be a guest host again on Monday. Tuesday's episode will be a repeat of a previous broadcast and All My Children's Susan Lucci will fill in on Thursday.

Born in McComb, Mississippi, Brandy (full name: Brandy Norwood) has released four albums that together have sold more than 25 million copies. She starred in UPN's Moesha from 1996-2001, and had leading roles in the movies TV movies Cinderella and Double Platinum.

The View has been the focus of much attention since Reynolds's surprise on-air announcement Tuesday that she would not be returning for the show's 10th season. She revealed to PEOPLE that she had been fired.
