-Rudey --I think anyone that goes to school on an athletic or merit scholarship, earned it, hence the scholarship. |

THE POLICE ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. PROSECUTORS ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. Don't talk to the police. If I had $1 for every client who was told by some good-cop acting all buddy buddy "Oh hey, just tell me what happened and you can go home" I'd be able to bail their sorry asses out of the joint right now. Any defense attorney worth a shit will tell his or her clients to STFU. Any defense attorney worth a shit isn't going to say anything to anybody unless it's going to get some good publicity for the client, which is unlikely in most cases. I have never, ever in my life told a client to talk to the police. Never. It's not done (which, to get off topic for a second, is why Law and Order drives me batshit). Period. Clients don't talk to police, prosecutors, or the press unless you're Johnny Freaking Cochran. I know they're not all bad, but I've seen cops lie under oath in court. You never, ever know how anything you say will be used against you, and therefore it is best to not say anything. |

A few months ago, my father represented a platinum-selling recording artist (from the 90's) in a child-custody related matter where he was accused of being a dead-beat dad. It was front page/lead story material (very damaging to him) until we had some brief conversations with the reporters assigned to the story after which, due to the fact that the ex-wife is a lying hoe-bag-she-devil, the story disappeared and our client has actually been getting a few gigs here and there since (I think the brief publicity may have actually helped). At any rate, I do see some lawyers representing clients only to get face-time on TV and to see their names in print (see Gloria Allred). Such individuals should be censored in my opinion by their respective Bar associations. |
The coach has resigned and the season has been cancelled.

Why aren't the DNA results available yet?
Either charge these guys and deal with a problem or clear them and stop making a fuss. -Rudey |
I believe they are expected to be ready this week...this week is almost over, so we'll see.

I know there's probably 100 different answers, but I've always wondered about those scenes in L&O where they're like "If you don't have anyting else for me, I'm not speaking unless my lawyers here, so you gonna charge me with anything or can I go?" |

In a unrelated case in Illinois in the death Riley Fox, her father's DNA sample was put in the state queue. This man sat in jail for at least 6 months to a year I think waiting for the results. It costs his family $250,000 out of their own pocket to have the sample analyzed quicker that the states schedule. Should the lacrosse teams samples receive priority over other cases going on in the state? |
They are Gone along with Coach!;)
Maybe some truth? |
According to this article the DA told reporters he does not intend to publicly release the DNA evidence.
