The weird thing for me is that Mr. Silver can literally pick something off the rack (irregardless of the tag size) and say, "Try this on." Usually it fits perfectly...even if it looks too big or too little...so weird. Mr. Silver has MUCH better tastes in clothes than I do!

I do agree with the size thing..to a certain extent. In terms of the "petite" thing, they're also cut for shorter women (5'4 and under), so it's kind of different.

If it is smaller than a 0, wouldn't it be size -1?

Lady Pi Phi killed the joke of "If it's zero, you don't exist" and it's great to see that you added the hilarious follow-up of "A negative number is less than zero".

This, kddani's post, and AOIISilver's describe my problems! If it fits my boobs, a small family could live in the rest of my outfit. If it's shorts or skirts, I get a petite, because I'm short waisted, but can't get a petite for pants or they'd be miles too short.

I really need to go back to making my own clothes... I'll call myself "Omar, Designer for those of big boobs, short waists, and long legs (and tents)"!

I wish Omar would bring me an ass. I've always wanted one.

I wish women's clothing was sized like men's - by waist, and inseam for pants; bust & sleeve for tops, then a combination for a dress. No more vanity, but wearing the same size in EVERY store, not an Ann Taylor 6 and a Banana Republic 10!! It makes me crazy!

[/hijack]

That is the BEST idea in the world!! lol. I'm tired of going to different stores and constantly having to try on like 5 sizes to just find one that fits. I guess that is why i wear the jean i have till they are consumed with holes! lol.

I have to wear a Large or XL shirts cause of my bust, but it sucks b/c once you start to wash them, they start to shrink and then its too small to wear.

And DON'T even get me started on pants....me and my 5'3 pear-shaped body! lol

Certain stores use lower #s for bigger clothes because people will think "Oh, I like being a size 2" when they're really a 4 or 6 and they'll continue using that brand.

Usually, if a store's small is too small on me, then their clothes run too small. I'm only 5'3" and I'm slim from years of running and ballet, so when I tried on the only decent looking sweater in Abercrombie one day - size medium - and it was too small, I knew that me and that store were never meant to be.

I think shoe sizes are awful too. Oh gosh, I can't even think about it right now!

If a person can fit into size 00 or 0 for that matter...heck even size 2 I say EAT SOMETHING! I know I'm skinny but I can't even wear that size.

More on vanity sizing

I don't like vanity sizing. I would prefer consistency.

I'm usually a size 6. But I bought a dress advertised as 4 that was stated that would fit a 6 as well. The dress turned out to be size 2. I still fit in it.

Usually my top and bottom sizes are consistent, since I do have an hourglass figure.

And I'm a smaller size than what I was in high school.
