Hey does anyone have any crow around?

FYI- Shaun Alexander's stats for the NFC Championship Game:

34 attempts 132 yards 3.9 yards per carry 2 TDs

Just wanted to point that out. :D

eh, those are pretty pedestrian rate stats, especially for him - although quite a bit was in garbage time, so I guess there's that.

He will need to average more per carry to beat the Steelers - plus, I can't imagine any scenario in which he gets 34 carries, unless they get up early (in which case, Seattle is probably way ahead).

Oh really? I wondered why I made a post earlier asking if there was any crow around.

Yah, but with stats like this:

This was the fifth game in a row Hasselbeck hasn’t thrown an interception, and he has just two in the last nine games. He was 20-of-28 for 219 yards and two touchdowns for a quarterback rating of 118.0. He has had a quarterback rating of at least 100.6 six games in a row and has a completed a shade less than 75 percent of his passes during that time.

Shaun doesn't need to carry the ball much.

And they aren't bad for someone coming off a concussion.....

This was actually my entire point - if he has to run 34 times, it better be because he's averaging 5+ per carry and they're in 2nd and short. I'm also on record in this very thread saying that the Seahawks can win w/out Alexander - really, in that system w/ that line, Mo Morris isn't exactly a dump in the bowl - but that they're f-ed in the a- w/out Tim's Brother.

Also, you might want to peep the passer rating and rate stats for that other QB still alive over that same time period - just for the sake of completeness, you know?

Go Seahawks!

Thrillhouse 01-24-2006 02:57 AM

Seattle won't have Jake Delhomme playing for them in the Super Bowl though so that will be tough for the seahawks. I haven't seen such a legendary performance out of a qb in a playoff game to help the other team since Neil O'Donnell in 1995.

Anyone hear the line on the game? I saw it was Pitt by 3.5 after yesterdays games.

Actually, I think people in this thread have been very cool about it all - unless you equate rooting for the other team as being a "prick."

Thrillhouse - I'd still go with O'Donnell's performance as the best big-game choke by any quarterback, although Delhomme's performance was surprising.

Hopefully it will be a good game - both QBs are definitely coming in on hot streaks.

Jake Plummer made a run for it as well. :( I think the small family living in his beard slowed him down a bit.

Gloating is pretty tacky, by the way. It's bad enough having your little football heart broken, but it sure sucks to log in every day and see 900 point font and someone telling you to STFU, especially when it's quoted 300 times and it's from a fan of the team you weren't even talking shit about constantly.
