Oui...Girls rush is bananas...Guys isn't that hard...but i guess it is good because you see all the houses.
I go to Long Beach State and I rushed way back in Fall 2002...and we had a bus system...All the guys got bussed to the house and we got passport. In order for use to get a bid from a house...we needed fice out of the seven house stamps. The house that I went though were the following\ Tau Kappa Epsilon Sigma Alpha Epsilon Sigma Phi Epsilon Sigma pi Delta Chi Phi Kappa Tau Kappa Sigma Theta Chi The houses that I knew first were Sig Ep, Sig Pi and Phi Tau. I had classes with some Sig Pi and Phi Tau and I am actually a Sig Ep legacy and my uncle amnd cousin wrote a letter on my behalf (THEY NEVER TOLD ME). I thought I would be a Sig Ep, but the first day of rush I didn't liek them...they were self invovled with themselves, and I am really laid back type of guy. I had a rush group with 15 guys and we all wanted to go to the same house, Our top house were Kappa Sigma, TKE, SAE, and Sig Pi. The second night of rush, we all went back to those four house, my roommate really liked kappa sigma and tke, and we all wanted to go the same house, but kappa sig didn't like me because I got into an arguement with their president. Anyways, the three night was the hardest because I like two houses alot...TKE and Sig Pi On our campus they are alot alike and one had a clean cut image ( Sig Pi) and the other had an Party image (TKE). I got asked back to both house and got bids from both. The fourth night was the hardest because that is when I had to turn in my passport to the house that I would rush...so I made and decision and picked....TAU KAPPA EPSILON And honestly...it has been the best decision in my life...My guys are the best and we try our hardest to have the image of the fraternity for everyone. I think the girl system is good, but I think is confuzing |
Update!
Hey everyone!
Well, the semester has ended and of course an update is due! lol. Anyway, I found out that there is life after sorority recruitment :) Things have been great! First, my college had campus-wide elections and I'm happy to say I was elected to the position of Senate. So I'll be Senator next year and I am very excited. What amazed me about this election is that I got the most votes for Senate, it was the highlight of my year! Second, I joined a service club, Rotaract which is a subdivision of Rotary International. It's really fun and exciting and became good friends with all the members :) Third, I became an assistant photo editor at my college's newspaper, a job I have been going for for 3 years and finally got it and really excited about. Finally, I'm going to be Senior next year and make it the best year of my college career :) Most of all, thank you to all of you for the advice, support and well wishes before, during and after sorority recruitment. I appreciate it very much and I am thankful for having the experience. Even though I was not placed, I learned so much about myself and celebrate myself too. Thank you again *hugs* |
It's great to see you're doing so well! :)
