Actually, I have. I've stood in the courtyard in Kilmainham Jail where the leaders of the Easter Rising were executed. I've walked through the burned out shells of churches destroyed by Cromwell. I have no illusions about Christianity's past, but I would point out that the Irish rebellions had a lot to do with Irish Nationalism as part of the Protestant-Catholic Troubles - namely, the Irish wanted their country back.

But I do gotta admit that the divide between Catholic and Prod go a lot deeper than just religion - but in admiting that I can;t help but view other religious divides in the same light. ie. how much is religion and how much is politics, socio-economics, culture, history, etc.
