shoes...

Hey, I've got my clothes picked out but...
Are sandals acceptable for ritual?
I know some chapters say close-toed shoes only, but I dunno if that's national - and it's not in the info!?

Hey guys! I apologize for not being here lately, but I have no internet. :( Well, I will be at LTS too and hope to see you all. I'm Tifany from Zeta Omicron. I hope to learn a lot of good stuff there from all of you to take back to my fledgling chapter and hopefully make a change for the good! If any of y'all want to plan a GreekChat night out, let me know!! :) My email is SpiffyTiffyTaffy@aol.com . Have a safe trip there everyone!

ok, so I was thinking of making up some small posters on my puter - ya know, just 1-sheeter things that maybe I could post by the registration table or the idea marketplace(they are having that right?)

Anyways, I was thinking something along the lines of...
"Recognize these screen names?"
(then various SN scattered about page)
then the graphic from GC
Greekchat.com
the fraternity and Sorority Greek chat network

Any ideas? Is that too cheesy? I dunno, i like making flyers and posters, I just lack creativity sometimes....

oh, another idea...

Bringing sisters from California to Canada together...
Greekchat.com(graphic logo)

whaddya think? Am i retard or what?

I love that idea. I can't wait to see the posters at LTS. See you there.

Sandals are acceptable... My chapter USED TO have a closed-toe shoe rule and then when I went to convention last year, many people were wearing open-toed shoes... LOL, we have since changed our rules to allow for open-toed! Although, I wouldn't wear flip flops or anything... I'm a clunky heal, steve madden's kinda girl!

MooseGirl 07-30-2003 08:51 AM

Thanks. I went ahead and bought another pair of shoes anyway, just from payless - i needed something non-black anyway...

I hope there's somewhere to post the flyers i bring...nothing like spreading the GC luv :p

MooseGirl 07-31-2003 03:29 AM

Lts

Hi, Phi Delta Theta from CSU Stanislaus here. I think that it is great you girls have a LTS, but on the other hand, it sucks. I say this jokingly because it took my girlfriend away from me for 5 days. Seriously though, its awesome you have a leadership training program like that. So do we. I went to it last summer, so for the girls that have not gone to LTS yet, I'm sure it will be lots of fun. Best of luck to all of you.

how do they judge who does the best with their book? i thought this was just supposed to be something that we did to get feedback on what we're supposed to do.

(keeping other comments to herself)

i was talking to gina kerley right before we handed ours in, and she told us that if it just looks really good - nice cover, pictures, neatly done - that the people who look at em are really impressed and stuff, but i dunno...

my president just called us and she said something about our chapter getting best improvement for formal recruitment or something, i dont exactly remember...but im excited :D

phi sig girly 08-01-2003 05:36 PM

ps: congrats dominguez hills!!!!!!!!! jamie must be super proud!!! how is she btw??? i havent really seen her since vision when she announced her engagement, and before that it was like a week before her graduation  but yeah congrats again! and do you know when we'll all be hangin out again?? probably founders day, huh?

Glitter650 08-01-2003 10:00 PM

White Chocolate... they do give you suggestions on improvment and calculate stats. for your chapter... BUT they also judge the books themselves on neatness and creativity and they also use you reports and stuff to do chapter awards... they are judged by council members. :)

just got home

HI All,

You got to know I'm addicted to GC when I walk in the door after arriving home from LTS and just drop my suitcase in my bedroom and then run on to the PC. Of course I did check email first then signed on here.

Anyway, LTS was great. I got to meet Jen and Heather which was fantastic. Both of them are absolutely the nicest sisters!!

As for Iota Gamma getting Best Chapter Excellence Portfolio - YEAH!! That was a big shock for us although we did work really hard on it, especially since some committees never did the Event Verification Forms (That is changing this year though). We ended up doing three Chapter Excellence days at my house during spring break to get all the pictures, flyers, emails, etc together for the book and a couple chairs did the EVFs at my house. Then our poor Archon and Vice Archon worked on all the other EVFs that still needed to get done.

Anyway, yes the national personnel who look at and grade the Chapter Excellence book do like the pretty pictures, etc and that did help us. But we were told by Joanne Barrick, our RCD, that the reason we won out over other chapters whose books were even "prettier" is that we actually had the substance in it. For most of the EVFs we had actual "proof" that we did the event - we included emails, flyers, newspaper articles, etc along with pictures of the event and that is what helped us make the difference over the other chapters. Also, a lot of our events weren't just geared towards one thing. For example, recruitment wasn't just recruitment events - we'd turn it into a philanthropy, community relations, campus relations, whatever event too.
