They film the college scenes at my school.. it's weird seeing them cover up stuff with "HEARST COLLEGE".

Thanks! I think I'll watch last season's finale before then so I can get back into a Veronica Mars frame of mind.

Loved the season premier... looks like it is going to be an interesting season!

I watched because there was nothing else on tv. I've never watched an entire previous season, just an episode here and there. Luckily I saw the episode where she "solved" the campus rape spree so I wasn't confused too much tonight. Can someone explain to me the appeal of the show? I always find myself just watching to try and figure out where they film around town. ;) I also found myself wondering how many of the sunbathers were recruited from the campus sororities.

Hegemon 10-04-2006 04:53 PM

I saw a preview for the second episode of this season and it features some sorority drama. From the preview, it looks like Veronica is going through recruitment and is being rushed by Zeta Theta Beta. She goes to a party and one of the girls gives her a shot called "Panty Droppers"...which is funny, because I used to go to fraternity parties where that's what they called their punch, but I'd be freaked out if a GIRL served it to me ;) Anyway, the episode should be interesting....

SoCalGirl 10-04-2006 05:14 PM

They really should have gone with Omega Beta Zeta instead. ;) Another thing that I learned watching the show last night is that apparently I'm a bigger sci-fi geek than I thought because I use swear words of the future, without even knowing it, when I'm trying to limit my swear words of the present!

Hegemon 10-04-2006 09:58 PM

Heh, I didn't see the episode but I'm pretty sure the swear words they use have been borrowed from the tv show Battlestar Gallactica - "frak" and the like.

They said it was from Battlestar Gallactica.

Well gosh, that MUSTA been a local sorority cause no body mentioned nationals pulling their charter after the pot was found in the basement and the underage drinking.

My hubby walked bye and saw a few minutes of the show and said, "Are you gonna write a letter?";)

Gotta love him!:)

Glad to show that they did have her leave before she "made a fool of herself".

I think they handled the sorority thing well. I'm interested to see how it stays a part of the story line with the whole rape plot.

And I'm SO glad this show was added to the CW. I think aligning with other shows from the WB and then with it's "Aerie Tuesday's" that American Eagle is endorsing is just what the show needed to keep it around a bit longer.

Drolefille 10-16-2006 04:24 PM

Grr at the aerie girls yet again...

I'm a nerd, but I wanted her to end up joining the sorority in the end. (Clearly not going to happen post-pot article) Ah well.

Yeah, I'm totally not a fan of the Aerie girls, but let's face it, VM was on a dying network and was threatened to be cancelled every season. The show needed some good PR.
