Congrats, Flic!!

Hey you were initiated the day before I was! That's so cool!!

I got my badge a couple weeks ago, but I'm still waiting on my initiation certificate.

I've always liked the Tri Sig badge...the skull and crossbones make it look very "edgy" and hip!! :D

Trojangal, you're going to have a tough time deciding. KD has REALLY gorgeous jeweled badges. I've seen so many that I'm in love with. Which ones are you leaning towards?

Somebody gave me some very sage advice-- order a chapter guard. If your badge is jeweled, you especially don't want it falling off somewhere. A guard gives you the extra bit of protection.

Co-sign on the chapter guard--one of the things that I regret the most is that I never had a pin guard on my OES pin that my grandmother had given to me when I was initiated---somewhere, along the way, at an event, it fell off. I was almost sick b/c it was one that had been in my family for years and had belonged to my great great aunt. :(

As far as the badges, there are several that I'm looking at. Seeing all of the badges that she had saved over the years really gave me a chance to look at them up close, and not just on the website. I'm definitely watching ebay as well---would LOVE to get an older badge for my initiation until mine comes in.

My computer is a Macintosh laptop too ....an ibook! The instructions are still the same. Did you actually try to hold the mouse button down before you posted that? :) Just now I unplugged my mouse and did the same exact thing with the touchpad/built-in button. Give it a try! If it still doesn't work, let me know what model of laptop you have and I'll find more specific instructions for you.

.....Kelly :)

I have an iBook, and you can hold the ctrl button down while you hit the mouse button, and that will make the menu pop up too.

The mystery has been solved. I couldn't understand how some Zetas said that their badge was engraved. Mine literally has no place to engrave even initials.

I called the company and it turns out that the backs of the new badges (like mine) are different from the backs of the old ones. Mine is what's called a "crown" backing (appropriate for ZTA :) wouldn't you say?!!) What that means is that it is in two tiers. The jeweled area has holes all around it so it lets the light in, and the enamel area is sunken in and covered by the clasp and pin.

The older badges had a solid back so there was plenty of room to engrave.
