I saw the movie twice. Overall it was an excellent movie, except for the romantic cheese. There's nothing wrong with romance if its done right. Lucas can't do it right.
Best bad ass moment was when Yoda felled the two chamber guards, with the flick of a Force powered wrist, in Palpatine's office near the end. The acting ranged from god-awful ("I love you!" "No, I love you more!") to the amazing performance by Ewan McGregor near the end. His "you were my brother" speech clarified the Shakespearian quality of the movie. He deserves at least an Oscar nomination. The best twist came when Darth Vadar learned that he killed Padme. She basically died of a broken heart because Anakin turned to the Dark Side to save her life. Lucas then pulled his Frankenstein homage, which was sort of cool. What he really should have done was present the clear Shakespearian tragedy that was there. |

I was wondering about Darth Plagueis myself....I still think he is (Jedi) Master Syfa Dyious and we know that Palpatine (implied) was Plegueis' apprentice. But he could have also made Anakin, this is where I need to go deeper into EU and see if there is any hint to this.
I really do not believe the spec that Palpatine is Anakin's father. |
This has been bugging me all day.
I thought at the end of Return of the Jedi, when Anakin/DV was on the funeral pyre, he was wearing a white shroud and his feet (real feet, not DV feet) were sticking out. Did I imagine this? Ian McDiarmid def deserves an Oscar nomination. He WAS this movie. |

I would pop the DVD in right now but it is at my house and I'm at my parents house until I'm completely moved in. I'll get back to ya on this (if someone doesn't beat me to it)
