BREAK SUBJECT OF BABY NAMES

I cant top the crazy names for kids so far.

I went to school and there were three sisters in different grades

Velvet 1 yr younger
Satin 3 yrs younger
Cotton not in school yet

and I am not making this up . . . they had a sister born later when I was in highshcool and her mom named her Poly Esther.
(sp?)

Come on that is wrong on so many levels.

Also, I worked @ the childcare management agency when I was in college and the names I saw their you wouldn't believe. (for example, sisters named "America" and "Africa")

RETURN TO BABY NAMES

Hmmm... I think we have different accents. The way I say the word "lawn", you can hear the "W". (I didn't see that question on the What Kind Of American-English Do You Speak thread...)

ETA: A colleague in Ohio makes fun of the way I say "on." "Owwwww nnnnn," he says it sounds. For me, the words "on" and "lawn" rhyme - and have {almost} two syllables!

My dh and I are expecting our first in November, and I read this thread to him. We are waiting until we find out the sex of the baby before we start seriously debating names, but in the meantime, he's thinking that Buddy is a great name. He said "No one on there has suggested Buddy. You should post it." So here I am, posting it.

This is the same guy who when we were watching CSI Miami said "That's what we could name the kid: Horatio." He does this to horrify me. This will be much worse than when we couldn't agree on names for the dogs!

Oh, you poor, poor baby! I used to be married to someone who was babyname-impaired, and I feel your pain! At least he hasn't suggested the first three letters of your screen name - yet!

Feel free to stop in again, especially when you know more about the baby!!

It could be worse. My brother wanted (and might still want) to name is firstborn son Happy G.

You got that right!!!!!

I yelled at him and said there was no way in HELL I was calling my "hypothetical" nephew Happy G.

Oh my! That is worse!! So far DH has only considered names of golfers, hockey players, and TV characters. He hasn't started on Adam Sandler movies yet. (Who, btw, is from our city. His brother lives around the corner from us, and his firm's name is Happy Madison, Inc.)

Thanks for commiserating with me, ladies. :)

My friend's last name is Lowe, and he announced last night that he's going to name his first born child "Giga" so the cild's name will be Giga Lowe. I was horrified.

My brother wants to name his son "Ron Jeremy". Seriously.

What is wrong with these people?

One of the baby magazines that I get had an article on why you chose your baby's name--the one that I liked best was from a father who named his son Luke--so he could stand at the crib and say "Luke, I am your father" - just like Darth Vader. It took a lot of convincing for my husband not to do the same! :D

Honey said to stop in when I knew more, and I do!

IT'S A BOY!

Now the naming fun begins... we have a fairly common last name, so that excludes a lot of possibilities.

Thanks ladies! Though I would have loved to have a legacy, at least I can dress him in blue and blue. You all can relate, huh? What baby boy doesn't look great in azure and white? ;)

Do y'all still have "Kappa Kings"? My ggrandfather was one! :D

I'm sure your little guy will look adorable! You'll have so many wonderfully non-overused names at your disposal, with a common last name!!

I have never heard of Kappa Kings! He will have to be an unofficial one. :)
