I'm definitely looking for the milk you mentioned when I go to the store, which will probably be tomorrow since there is now more dog food in the house than human food. |
Skim. I used to drink whole till I read a report that said there was the same amount of fat in two cups of whole milk as there is in a stick of butter. Not a pat, a stick. Blech. It just takes one thing like that to turn me off to something forever.
My 3 1/2 year old nephew is on whole. His pediatrician said kids need to be on whole till they are 12-15. Then need the fat for growth. At that point, its good for them. |
That's interesting about the comment about the other pediatrician
We are a two milk family. Hubby and I are on skim. Whole milk is too thick for me..bleh. The 4 y/o is on 1%--our pediatrician said 1% was fine, and she didn't need the whole milk. |

I'm in shock that so many people drink 2% and whole! I assumed most people drank skim! I personally don't like milk, but we use skim milk.
That's interesting about the pediatriciation saying kids should be on whole until they're in their teens. We have a 10-month old and our doctor told us to start him on whole milk at 12 months for a few years, then 2%, then skim but way before their teen years. Interesting how every doctor is so different! |

My cooperative owns Marva Maid and Maola dairies and the Mellobuttercup Ice Cream brand, but we sell milk to PET, especially the plant in Baxley, Ga., which we help build then sold to PET. |
Soy Vanilla (If not available, 2% milk)

1% milk, and only from a place called Brahms. It's a fast food place with a grocery section. Their milk is "organic" meaning there is no coloring, no additives, the cows aren't hopped up on hormones, also, no water added.
It's shipped from somewhere about 45 minutes away and generally has a further off expiration date than grocery store milk. Unless you're somewhere in the central US, you've probably never heard of Brahms. The CEO refuses to ship very far away from the main plant due to quality issues. |

And the ice cream... |

I'm kinda lactose intolerant. I can only drink it with cereal at certain times of the day. Isn't that weird? But I can eat ice cream, sour cream and cheese with no problem.

I had skim this morning, but I usually prefer breast

I drink whole or 1/2 & 1/2...Yes, I am on Atkins!
Has anyone here had the Hood low-carb milks? I can drink them ok enough, but they leave my tongue feeling funny! Plus, they are more expensive than regular milk, so I only get it when I can afford it! MILK RULES! Especially with chocolate cake or a nice, hot blueberry muffin!:D :D :D |
