Well let's see- 100 block area with roads closed off so people cant get to banks, offices, etc, very easily means fewer customers than a usual Thursday and lost income. Lost income is money businesses can't pay in taxes or in purchasing supplies, etc.

Of all the savagely short-sighted things you've posted, this is probably in the top 3. Just utter nonsense, my man, and a real stretch.

The funny part is that the county in Wyoming where Cheney calls home went Blue, as did the county that contains Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas. And DC went Blue as well. Any coincidence that the places where they live dont want them?
Perhaps this illustration is much more clearer....

County, Bush, Kerry

McLennan, 52,078, 26,759 (Crawford, Texas)

Natrona, 21,503, 9,852 (Casper, Wyoming)

I think you're an idiot, but you can solve this puzzle for me anyway....

if kerry would have won, i am almost certain that streets would have been closed too, and money for security and balls would be just as high. get over it. those protestors on the side of the streets didnt help shorten these road blocks, did they? it looks like its going to get expensive every four years.

this was my first inauguration watch. it was fairly good.
