I so agree. It pisses me off to no end when girls are rude to people or act all pissy while in their letters.

I really dont see a problem. Let people be people. If they look dumb its not your problem to worry about. Different strokes for different folks.....

I"m not a fan of the printed butt look in general, but here is my question...
How are butt letters, if they are disrespectful, any different than scadalous or suggestive party shirts. ie 'Come get laid with XYZ' etc. or in some ways the really bitchy ones? Presentation is presentation if it is on your ass, your back or your chest...Just kinda curious how all that is different, it just seems disrespectful on t-shirts also... |

To me, it's just a matter of preference. I personally wouldn't do it nor do I care to see the ladies of my house with the shorts HOWEVER, if our Nationals don't see a problem with allowing the merchandise to be sold & bought, then I'm not about to go & start a revolution.
I believe the letters are to be respected but I'm not going to disrespect my sister by telling her that she's wrong. My opinion is obviously different from hers if she finds it o.k. to wear our letters on her ass. Finally, if you must wear shorts the letters on the ass, please get the appropriate size shorts. It's not nice to see letters so stretched out you can't tell a Sigma from an Epsilon. |
eww.
thats a no no. |
Who doesn't like to see a sweet ass? Who doesn't love to see letters? Who doesn't love to see letters on a sweet ass?
More power to ya, wear them all day long. |

I'm not going to blow a fuse if I see a sister with letters on her butt, but I wouldn't wear them myself. |
How Come I nearly choked on my breakfast reading this?!

i think i'm going to sorority hell too cuz i have sweatpants w/ letters on the bum cuz i think its cute! altho sometimes the 'O' in AOII disappears in certain spots...haha all the other girls and i refer to them as the A - crack - II pants!
|
"Butt pants" as they are called at my school where really popular my senior year. Girls didn't know if they were the same as 'letters' so before Spring Formal Recruitment when all sorority women weren't supposed to wear letters except at events a second Panhellenic email went out that even pants with letters on them counted. I think they are pretty disrespectful but the pants are usually very comfy which is why they are so popular.
Pant/shots with our college name on the butt are popular too..and I am guilty of owning a pair of those, but I wear them as PJs! I'm of the belief that when in letters one should try and dress polished. No need to be all scruff looking at Sunday brunch with your letters on, they are an outwright representation of your organization. |
In high school our official gym uniforms had the name of the school arched on the butt. I think they're very cute. I want some with the name of my college there. I see the point about it being disrespectful, but if you've got a cute butt, they sure look good. I don't get too deep into the symbolism of it.

Phi Mu sells them on their website though the name is spelled out rather than in letter form.

It was pretty popular at my school the last year I was there. I personally thought they were a little tacky, but it was no big deal. It was a bigger deal to be drinking in public with letters on (though once we took alum vows we were all off the the bar in our letters)
