Halle Berry has reportedly donated her estranged husband Eric Benet's clothes to homeless Los Angeles residents. Eric Benet moved out of their Hollywood home in October following their split after two and a half years of marriage. According to British newspaper The Sun, Berry has repeatedly asked Eric to pick up his belongings from the house, but finally lost her patience and brought the garments to a charity collection point. A friend says, "Halle was boiling mad. She found it hurtful having his stuff around. There will be nicely dressed tramps around."

According to Chronic Magazine, Busta Rhymes has filed a civil counter-claim against the woman who accused him of assaulting her in late 2002. The filing of a counter-claim against 22-year-old Celine Giguere came around the same time as a Superior Court judge’s decision to allow Giguere’s own civil suit against Rhymes to continue at the Superior Court level. Giguere, whose civil suit is based on five counts -- assault and battery, assault, intentional affliction of emotional distress, reckless infliction of emotional distress and intimidation -- seeks about $105,000 in damages from the rapper /actor. Rhymes’ attorneys have submitted a counter-claim alleging six counts of assault, assault and battery, intentional affliction of emotional distress, reckless infliction of emotional distress, slander and abuse of process. Although Rhymes is seeking financial damages, interest and attorney fees---No actual monetary award was disclosed. Rhymes was placed on probation for six months this past March, while Giguere had her case dismissed.
Music Of Black Origin Awards(MOBO) bosses are facing the wrath of gay rights activists who are furious homophobic stars Elephant Man and Vybz Kartel have been nominated for awards. Leading pressure group Outrage! are urging the BBC to abandon plans to broadcast the prestigious British event, claiming it "rewarded" artists who promote homophobia and hate attacks on gays and lesbians. Elephant Man and Kartel are among eight reggae stars whose lyrics are currently under police investigation in the UK over claims they incite violence and hatred against homosexuals. Outrage! has also vowed to call UK Home Secretary David Blunkett to ban the two Jamaican artists from the event. The group's spokesman Peter Tatchell says, "By accepting the nomination of Vybz Kartel and Elephant Man, the MOBOs are rewarding singers who incite the murder of lesbians and gay men." A week ago, Outrage tried to get EMI to cancel Beenie Man's contract even after the dancehall star had written a letter of apology for his homophobic lyrics. In related news, Buju Banton is currently being charged for assualting a group of gay men on June 24th, 2004 in Kingston. Six men were driven from their home and beaten by a group of armed men . Buju has been named as one of the armed assailants. Buju has denied the charge. He just recently lost a deal with Puma and has had various of his concerts in Europe cancelled because of pressure from gay rights groups.
well, i guess it's "BOOM BYE-BYE" to a recording career
Dancehall star Beenie Man, who has recorded anti-gay songs in the past, was yanked from a concert associated with the MTV Video Music Awards this weekend after gay groups planned a protest, the network said (today)Wednesday. MTV pulled the Jamaican singer from the roster Tuesday after South Florida gay activists announced plans to protest Saturday's concert in Miami over some of his past lyrics, including "I'm dreaming of a new Jamaica, come to execute all the gays" and "Queers must be killed." "We don't want anything to overshadow what will be a great weekend of music events for South Floridians," MTV spokeswoman Marnie Black said Wednesday. She declined further comment. Beenie Man has had his concerts canceled in Europe over the last few weeks after angry gay groups protested. Although he has previously defended his lyrics, earlier this month, Beenie Man issued an apology for his previous songs, including "Bad Man Chi Chi Man (Bad Man, Queer Man). "Various gay activists like Outrage! have recently targeted dancehall and reggae singers including Elephant Man, Vybz Kartel and Buju Banton. Beenie Man was not available for comment . He is currently on a world tour promoting his new album, Back to Basics. He ends his tour in Miami on November 8th.
