Longstar Steak House, Ponderosa, Picadilly's, and Chilli's.

As for local Restarants, Blueberry Hill in University City, Missouri. It's a nice place to hang out, but the food sucks.

My mother grew up across the street from the Georgetown Inn, and she's always telling us about how the Le Mont was a movie theatre. Her mother was constantly telling her & her sisters to sit in the back of the theatre, just in case it fell over the hill! I still think the food at the Georgetown Inn is much better.

I hadn't yet been to The Cheesecake Factory when this thread was popular, but have since been to the one in Chicago. It was the one at Woodfield Mall, and I met a sister a few hours prior to meeting the former mr. hc for a MAJOR soccer game.

O.Mi.Gosh. For years, I have wondered why hotels put telephones in the bathroom. That day, I learned why. I could not have been more ill if I had been bitten by a bat infected by the avian flu.

Never. Ever. Again.

What did you eat? My mother ate a turkey sandwhich that tasted very unfresh and refuse to ever go back again.

It was a half-sized chicken salad - I want to say Thai or such, but I'll look it up on the menu & confirm (painful as it may be).

Edited to add: It was the Chinese Chicken Salad - and I missed the game!!!!

Pappadeaux isn't too bad but its sister restaurant, Pappasitos, is awful. Everyone talks about how good it is but I really don't think the food tastes much better than Taco Bell.

I can't seem to find any Mexican food that's as good as El Mariachi in Coral Springs, FL. Mmmmmmmmmm.

Heehee! I actually worked at O'Charley's for a few months when it opened here. I actually like the food, but I also customize like crazy when I order. I have noticed that prices range depending on the location. The middle of Virginia isn't exactly as expensive as DC. :p If I had to pay more, than I probably wouldn't like it nearly as much.

Overrated in Chicago is the Billy Goat Tavern. Yes, I realize it's nostalgic and a landmark to the city, but the food...ehhh.

The food is supposed to suck. You should try the house specialty, I believe they call it "beer."

1. Olive Garden
2. Donatto's
3. Cracker Barrel
4. Bob Evan's
5. Bennigan's
6. Chik-fil-a
7. Lonestar
8. Texas Roadhouse

Now, the O'Charley's, The Cheesecake Factory, and the Outback are wonderful around here :) The Cheesecake Factory in Columbus is to DIE for!!

I'm over Cheesecake Factory (this from a woman who thinks Cheesecake really IS one of the main food groups). The waits at the Easton one are ridiculous no matter what time of the day you go there. Thank heavens for the bakery/carry out counter!

J. Alexanders (I believe it's national) and Wolfgang Puck. Very dissapointed in both.

Plus Cafe Delux (I don't know if they have it everywhere) is much better than the Cheescake Factory (apparently they're owned by the same company, and they are both ---relatively speaking---down the street from each other in downtown Chicago) here, at least.

Around here, it's usually not too bad, and they are at least in malls where you can walk around while you're waiting. I like their food as a change of pace sometimes, but yes, there are those who think it's the greatest thing on earth. There prices around here aren't too bad, and they actually have a somewhat decent brunch.

When I went to Ohio Dominican U. (5 minutes form Easton), me and my friends tried to go at different times at least 3-4 times a month, and the wait was always at least 2-3 hours. Thank god for Max and Erma's.

Oh sheesh! The longest I've ever had to wait was 20 minutes!

AOIIalum 12-05-2005 09:34 PM

I've been there at varying times, even once around 1:30-2:00pm--when schools are in session--and been quoted an hour's wait. Then again, it's a haul from here to Easton so it's really not a big deal :)

I've waited 3 hours at Cheesecake Factory... but the one in San Fran is on top of the 8 story Macy's building in Union Square. It has great views/ tons of tourists all the time, so I can see how it's a bit different from the standard.
