I think most of us are smart enough to figure out that whether we want to be judged on our looks or not, it's gonna happen.

I don't think anybody in this thread was debating whether or not we get judged by our looks, so I'm not sure what you're trying to argue. The argument was based on how others perceived you when you articulated -- in a less than pleasant manner -- your judgements of other people's looks.

I'm just curious -- maybe you can explain this to me, since all the other guys on this board who originally shared your opinion seem to have backed off due to cowardice or intelligence, I'm not sure which. I don't think that bashing the way a woman looks is going to score you any points with other men, because I'm sure few of them really care whether or not you'd do Monica Lewinsky. I think we've already established that it's going to minimize your chances of scoring any points with women.

Which means that either, a) y'all don't really care that saying stuff like that ruins your chances with women-- or b) y'all are so bitter about the fact that none of you are getting laid that you feel the need to take it out on women you have no chance with anyway.

I guess I'm just confused.

And really if we're debating the merits of Monica's appearance... let's look at Bill for a moment and forget he was President. He's not exactly the best looking horse in the barn. We're not saying Brad Pitt slept with Medusa here. Relatively speaking, 50 something year old Bill got him some 20 something piece of A**. ANY 20 something piece is a good one by a flawed male's logic.

When did women's use of makeup justify calling other women names?
I have a problem with people being rude, judgmental, and cruel. Calling a woman a linebacker and huge is all of those things.

Rudey 06-23-2004 07:15 PM

I think Monica is fat. I think Monica is not pretty. I didn't say I was a supermodel. I said that about Monica. I don't ever intend on banging a single girl on Greekchat. I don't ever mind saying stuff like that to a girl in person or in front of my coworkers if it's an appropriate situation.

Oh and before you say anything, many of you have been on GC talking about how certain guys/girls are ugly, overweight, etc.

This is the most reassuring part of your post.

Reassuring of what? I thought you were off limits anyway.

Well, not to change the subject or anything...
But all I want to hear from Bill Clinton is to hear him STHU.
Seriously, I am just tired of him.

Well whats the point of maintaining the argument when its more of an emotional issue for some?

They stated their opinions which you and others countered. I thought you had a good post last night when you wrote about the comraderie of women when it came to weight issues.

Most of the posts were just flippant personal atacks that had no serious content to respond.

And speaking generally, if the guys came back on and posted the same viewpoint in different words over and over again, would that make their arguments more compelling?

Whats the pont? You either agreed or disagreed with them the first couple times. And I doubt anyone is changing anyone else's mind in this thread.

Somehow, I feel better, seeing that she found her voice:

Monica Lewinsky on Yahoo

and the European AP.

I hadn't realized that's she's already thirty!

Unreal. Her complaints can't be serious. She became famous because of circumstance, and has since used that circumstance to become a celebrity. Unless she does something usefull in her own right, she should really STFU and enjoy her 15 minutes.

See, you're still not understanding (or trying to understand) the immature "girl in love"'s mind. She did not WANT fame, she wanted - and was led to believe that she had - romance.

In case any of you are interested, the most recent topic on Opinion Duel is on Bill Clinton being successful. Opinion Duel is basically the smartest liberal and conservative publications debating.

Ruined her life? Pul-leaze. This woman has gone from a no-one to someone who will always be a part of American History.

This whole thing has given her the opportunity to do anything she wanted- from designing handbags, to hosting TV shows, interviewing, etc.

I don't see her complaining about all the money she's gotten out of the opportunities that were created for her. If she didn't want the attention she shouldn't have purposely put herself in the spotlight so many times.

I just hate people crying "i'm a victim" but then squeezing everything they can out of it.

If he'd truly ruined her life, she would've tried to keep her privacy instead of selling herself as a commodity.

I can understand that she didn't want fame, but once she had it, she tried to build on it. Once she was hosting TV shows, in my opinion, she was no longer a victim.
