If Carrie does NOT marry Aidan, it will STILL mess up the show.

All these years, they have had the round table discussion about men and marriage and all that. So now, that it is beginning to happen, YOU DON'T WANT IT? You're scurred? You're throwing up? EEKA EEKA WTF?

The only person that really had not ever talked about wanting to get married or the whole relationship thingy was Samantha.

Personally, I am happy for them. The show couldn't continue the way it started forever. Time goes on. And, eventually, with everyone looking for Mr. Right, someone was gonna find him. I think that it's about time for them to embrace a change in their lives. They're not getting any younger. Who would want to watch a show with four 50-60 year old women sleeping with every professional man in Manhattan? This is the natural progression for these four women.

I also think that Samantha needs to try and settle down. I don't believe that women are cut out to have meaningless sex forever. She's dillusional. She's trying to prove to herself that she doesn't need anybody, when in fact she does. We all do. I mean really, who wants to be alone forever? And, what's she gonna do when she hits 70? Still be sleeping with all those men? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif I hope not!

"Sex and the City" is just an HBO version of "The Golden Girls", with younger women in NYC instead of Miami. Think about it: Blanche=Samantha, Rose=Charlotte, Dorothy=Miranda (just because she's the only one who doesn't really mess around that much, but isn't always in a relationship), and Sophia=Carrie (because she makes the commentary on her friends).

Okay...I've gone too far. It's way too late at night to do this. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

ANOTHER reminder!

Repeats of the FIRST part of the season are being shown on Sundays, back-to-back. Just a reminder that Carrie and the gang have 6 more episodes that will air in January! :D

SATC

Sarah Jessica Parker and dem look beautiful in the previews for the six new episodes. But I must admit, sometimes I think Sarah is beautiful, and other times she looks like a horse.

Charlette is very pretty. Miranda needs longer hair.

And Kim Catrall looks good, but damn I remember her as "Lassie" in Porky's!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!LOL!

Is this bonus season in January going to be the last season?

I think that they're going to have to end the show pretty soon. The original concept of the show was four single and fabulous women who were all unattached and having a great time being that way. But, things are changing. Charlotte is married and Carrie soon will be. And, Miranda is expecting.

If they continue on, the whole dynamic of the show will be different. Obviously, there won't be dating-dominated conversations that much any more, because two of them will be married and Miranda really won't have much time to date.

The only character who hasn't changed is Samantha. And, who wants to see "Samantha in the City." I would get tired of seeing her giving a different man "the business" week after week.

6 new episodes!

Just a reminder!

Last night...

What did everyone think?

I thought Miranda's ex was still going to be in the picture in some shape or form. I'm glad to see that Samantha's fallen for someone...maybe peer pressure to settle down? Poor Charlotte. Carrie? Crazy outfits once again...

Poor Charlotte is right. Trey was being a d@#%. That man does NOT want a child, and I think we may see that later in the season.

I'm not feeling Miranda back with Steve. He's too nebbishy. She needs a sharper-edged man.

Sam settling down would take a lot of spice out of the show. Even with Richard.

And I'm with you on that Roberto Cavalli outfit Carrie was fighting w/Aidan over. But I did like the Manolo Blahnik shoes that Pete chewed and how the girls were dressed over at Charlotte's apartment.

Charlotte is very pretty -- reminds me of an Audrey Hepburn type.

carolyne 01-07-2002 05:42 PM

Personally, I was a little squimish (sp?) watching Miranda have sex with someone when she's pregnant by another man. I'm not being judgmental, I just know that I couldn't do it.

I think that it's cute for Samantha to finally like someone.

I like Charlotte, too. But she rushed the marriage thing too much. She is stuck in fantasy land.

skeeliteful 01-07-2002 05:44 PM

I think Charlotte should leave Trey again. What was up with the cardboard baby? I thought that was very insensitive knowing how she felt. And I agree with you, Steeltrap. Her classy, conservative style does remind me of a young Hepburn...Carrie has convinced me that there are no fashion police in New York. You can wear what ever you want and get away with it like you stole something...I had tears in my eyes when Richard started playing "by your side" for Samantha. I really, think he's gonna knock down some walls with her but I don't think it will last...and Miranda hair looked. I'm glad she's letting it grow. I thought Steve would be around too...but she needs someone more like her....that's my synopsis of the episode

Trey Has Issues

I really enjoyed last night's episode. I loved the single women behavior stuff. That is sooooo true. For me anyway. Well, here are my comments:

Charlotte and Trey - Charlotte needs to realize that Trey has SERIOUS issues. Who in the hell gives a woman who has fertility problems that kind of "gift"? He's got a really warped sense of humor. I don't see their marriage lasting very long unless they work out their issues --Trey's mother being one of the bigger ones.

Miranda - OK, I did not feel comfortable with Miranda sleeping with that guy. YAK!! But that's my own hang up. It might have been different if it weren't a one night kinda thing. I know we all have needs, but I guess I'm a "prude" when it comes to stuff like that. :o BTW, did he know she was pregnant? If not, that makes it worse IMHO.

Samatha - I'm glad she is falling in love. She deserves it. I don't think this will change the show too much because this is all new for Samantha. She's gonna make mistakes. She's not a relationship person, so there's gotta be drama there somewhere.

Carrie and Aiden - I was laughing HYSTERICALLY during their argument. Especially when she told Aiden to shut up. Ha, ha, ha!! That was too funny. I was feeling her on all his stuff being there. That was a bit much. She couldn't even get in the door. When she went through his bag that was in the bathroom and took out his rogaine, I thought he was going to just die. :o I guess men have their single men behaviors, too. Carrie is good, cuz I would've hurt that dog for a $300 pair of shoes. ;)

Anyway, I don't think the premise of the show will change much because although they may all be in relationships (with the exception of Miranda), they still deal with relationship issues. Yes, it was dating/relationship issues and all that drama in the previous seasons. But, I think they can open up a whole can of worms with the relationship/marriage issues. I mean, Charlotte and Trey's problems alone will make for interesting TV.

Oh ~ I didn't think her outfit was that bad. IMO, she looked great at the end of the show in the shirt. It was...different.

This evening's SATC

So what did everyone think?

Glad to see Trey and Charlotte separate. That man is not right for her. But I cracked up at ol' over-the-top Anthony and Charlotte's spread in H&G. Did you notice her dress with the pink and green in it?;)

Miranda should just relax and enjoy her pregnancy.

Samantha still makes me laugh. I liked her blue and cream gear in her scene with Richard at the office.

Carrie and Aidan, although they love each other, are quite different -- do you think they will make it?

Eclipse 01-14-2002 02:26 PM

Hi Steeltrap.
I'm a bit of a traditionalist....I am very sad that Charlotte and Trey are having problems. I hope he will "see the light" and realize the error of his ways. I thought it was really sweet that he came back to do the H & G spread with her. I would hope that he would realize is mother is crazy when he goes back home. They both need some serious therapy. I think that would make a good story line. Carolotte & Trey with a wacky therapist!

Samantha is a hoot. That girl is about to fall hard and I think Richard is going to drop her like a hot potato!!

Carrie and Aidan...nope...I don't think they will make it. She's going to break his heart again and then regret it and whine about with her friends. Carrie in a couple (stable, etc.) does not bode well for the show. When I saw the previews from last week I thought she had truly met another man....not just a gay shoe salesman. How is she going to get mad when he was interested in talking to other men at that club?!?! Helloooooo He's GAY Carrie!!

Sidebar....I saw an article in a mag (I think InStyle--one of my standing in line at the grocery store reads ;) ) that said Carrie's ring is 3 carats and costs $60,000!! This is why I hate TV. They set us up for unrealist expectations. No way Aiden is balling like that!!

Hello Eclipse,

I'm traditional, too. But there's just something about Trey which isn't right, even though I can't put a finger on it.

Carrie shouldn't have gotten P.O.ed at Oliver talking to other menses. It was a gay bar, after all.

Also, Carrie's ring is unrealistic. If she were to get a 3-carat ring, it should logically be from Mr. Big. He's the one with the scratch, not Aidan.

But that's the beauty of TV. It's escapist fantasy.:p
