I've thought that it would be cool if Catherine Zeta Jones' daughter, Carys Zeta, went to an American university and joined Zeta...As for ADPi names (I'm the only ADPi in the family), my cousin has a son named Andrew William (Andrews and Williams), and Elizabeth is my grandmother's name, so pretty much every one of my cousins and I are going to have daughters with Elizabeth as their middle name (we already have Grace Elizabeth and Carrie Elizabeth). I would also totally name my son Evan. He could be Evan Tucker...Evan Fitzgerald...Evan Pierce...Evan Andrew...Evan William....as for Octavia, that's actually my favorite. It really is pretty, just very unconventional. I believe Octavia was the wife of Marc Antony and the sister of Octavian (or Octavius?), one of the Caesars.

Of all my APhiA founders, I'd only consider the name "Eugene" for a son.
|
Hmmm.. I love my founders but all of these names are a little to old school for me but but if I had to choose , Annette is the winner. ETA: For a boy, Elias Dorsey (Iota Phi Theta) for first and middle names, Langston Taylor (Phi Beta Sigma)also for first and middle names, and Ernest (Omega Psi Phi).:D |
For the ZTA's......Leigh is a good name (its my first name) :)
Anyway, I would name my kid Calva Louise most likely. I like the names together and one of my biological sister's first name is Mary and my other sister is Julie so that rules out Mary and Juliette. My dog or cat would be Alphie or Siggy. Alpha Sigma Alpha Founders: Virginia Boyd Noell Calva Watson Wootton Louise Cox Carper Mary Williamson Hundley Juliette Hundley Gilliam |

dorcas
Greek, meaning "roe or gazelle". a translation of the aramaic name tabitha.biblical, found in the new testament, acts 9:36. common name during the roman empire, also found as dorchas.
there was a judge in jacksonville, florida named dorcas drake, who had a big charity christmas party for underpriveledged children every year. |
In the Roman Empire, you named daughters by the feminime form of the family name (surname) and after the first daughter, by number. Octavia then, is the eighth daughter.
Cornelia Sextia would be the daughter of the Cornelius family and the sixth daughter. However, most girls would go by their middle names, since all the daughters would have the first name Cornelia. |
let's see, our founder's first names
josephine, ethel, fay, estelle, lillian, shirley, rose, Gwen, Claire, and Jeanette. I had a friend named Jeanette when I was little, so I like that name...doubt I would use it. I have family member's who are already named Rose (first and middle) so I wouldn't want to use that (don't like to name after relatives too much) I would prolly use Fay and Gwen though...I think they sound nice |

WOW, Did not know Dorcus ment that much! She was uglier than Sin!
Male: Thomas +++!:) You May fill In The Rest! Lot of History to that and Mine!:D Every Sun. Morn one of the TV Stations show pix and names of little 1 years Old, Some Cute Names, but spell Diff! |
*raises hand* I would be somewhere who snuck a GLO reference into my child's name.
My daughter's middle names are Rose Mary (two separate words). Rose comes from Delta Zeta's flower, the beautiful Killarney rose. Mary is in honor of her late paternal grandmother. A sister suggested that my little angel's first name be Killarney, but I drew the line there :) |
I like Lillie (or Lily)
I always wanted to name my girl after my maternal and paternal grandmothers. One being a founder's name that I do not like. But, I'm all for a variation Allison, instead of Alice. |
