Nick Lachey Likely To Start Kissing Jessica Simpson's Tummy More
01.14.2004 3:48 PM EST

No, Jessica Simpson's not pregnant, but Nick Lachey is likely to start kissing his wife's tummy a little more in the new year.

That's thanks to the pop starlet's new belly-button fragrance, made from pheromones, aromatic chemical compounds naturally emitted by humans that can act as an aphrodisiac.

The perfume is part of D'lish Fragrance Inc.'s upcoming Dessert, a body-care line Simpson helped create.

Due in Sephora stores nationwide in April, the line will also feature whipped body cream, chocolate body gloss, powdered sugar body shimmer, lip-plumping fragrance, bath bubbles, and hair and body treatments.

All of the items are "lickable," according to D'lish, and available in three scents, Creamy, Dreamy and Juicy.

"It's been so much fun to be able to create a line of beauty products from start to finish," Simpson said in a statement. "I can't wait to be able to share Dessert with the world. The whole experience has been so exciting to me, from coming up with ideas and concepts to smelling samples ... and choosing my favorites."

Free samples of Dessert are available now through www.dessertbeauty.com.

Along with designing fragrances and, of course, making reality TV, Simpson has been meeting with movie producers. She is currently in talks to star in the drama "Walk On," based on the true story of Texas Rangers pitcher David Clyde, according to her father/manager, Joe Simpson.

Clyde, who was recently described as "LeBron James in baseball spikes, only 30 years earlier," went straight to the major leagues from high school in 1973, attracting sellout crowds for a struggling franchise.

Desperate to keep attendance up, the team had Clyde in constant rotation, which led to troubles with his underdeveloped arm. After three lackluster seasons with Texas and two with Cleveland, Clyde left baseball at the age of 26.

Simpson would play the star's high school sweetheart. The Clyde role has yet to be cast.

The second season of "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica" will premiere January 21 at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.

Chris Tucker to quit Hollywood to fight AIDS in Africa?
By WENN

Comedian Chris Tucker is so moved by the plight of AIDS victims in Africa, he's considering quitting his Hollywood career to concentrate on fighting the continent's epidemic.

Pals of the 31-year-old Rush Hour star say he's turned down more than $100 million in film roles in the past six years, in part to make time for his charity work.

A source says, "After Chris receives $25 million for Rush Hour 3 and his current film contract runs out in 2004, he's going to focus solely on his charity work. Helping children with AIDS has become his passion.

"Chris doesn't just sign his name to the cause. He prefers spending his time with his family and working to combat the AIDS crisis."

During a hiatus, Tucker, who lives in a $2 million California mansion with his longtime girlfriend and five-year-old son Chris Jr., decided to explore the world. His travels took him to Uganda, where he met a mother in her 30s, who was dying of AIDS.

Tucker says, "I never imagined in America preparing for death at such a young age. It definitely changed the way I look at the world, Africa, and all the things that we take for granted in America."

I applaud Chris Tucker. I will miss his acting, but I believe that he will have more of an impact with his AIDS work.

If I'm Big "Uuben," I find a way to diversify my image beyond this American Idol stuh. I think that Ruben, if he has the proper producers, songwriters and management, could definitely be a star in the adult R&B love ballad market.

nikki1920 01-20-2004 03:08 PM

HC I agree?

Whoops, wrong format! lol
But I think Ruben's true test will be his second album. I'm not really feeling I'm Sorry 2004.

CTFU about B and Ms. Jackson. Little girl if you dont sit your bootylicious self down, lol...and when is Janet gonna put another album out?

Hmm you're right. I initially skimmed the article and took it to mean the plight of AIDS not just AIDS in Africa.

Granted AIDS in the US is bad, but it's nothing compared to what's happening in Africa. They are battling poverty and ignorance on a scale that the US hasn't since in decades if not centuries. It's as if AIDs had hit the US circa 1800. The people are culturally and financially completely unprepared and the infection rate there is truly astounding. People there believe things like having sex with a virgin can cure you of AIDS. There is nothing even approaching that level of miseducation here.

When it comes to the AIDS virus Africa is really where the majority of our efforts need to be focused IMO.

Ditto!

Well said, Soror!

So I guess that's why he is "moving" to Africa....

Not to mention infant rape. I've read that raping of babypeople is connected with misinformation about a "cure" for AIDS.

I am really upset for Ruben. I LIKE SORRY 2004:p ! I would be P.I. Issed if I was him. First they let this red haired freak's(I don't care how good his voice is) album come out before his and now he is going on tour first? It is not fair!! This crap did not happen on the first season and the fact that it is happening to the BROTHER who won the second season is really making me mad! The American Idol folks were/are weak and they did not stand up for Rueben when he won because they did not expect him to win. Make me sick:mad:
