Anthony Hopkins is a great choice. Just finished the book last night. IT WAS GREAT! It held my attention the entire time. I even read it at work ( I know...bad me )! I was so interested because this is a theory I had never heard about before. Can't wait to see the movie! |
From a conceptual perspective, the DaVinci code is in the ballpark. If you really get into the Hebrew and Greek in the Bible, you'll find a lot of the same information there regarding mystery religions and the whore of Babylon.
If you like the DaVinci code, I also recommend you read a series of books called The Alberto Series. It is the autobiography of a former Jesuit Priest, Dr. Alberto Rivera, who exposes the mafia- and occult -like atmoshpere of the Catholic Church. The books are written in comic book form so it's easier to understand and visualize what Dr. Alberto Rivera was saying. You can find the books at www.chick.com. |

As I mentioned before, The DaVinci code, from a big picture perspective, had a lot of accuracies in terms of man-made religions and doctrines. But there are definitely some inaccuracies. For example, if you study Josephus, the first-century historian, you know that the Hebrew culture at the time of the Last Supper doesn't align with the picture a lot of us grew up with. |
ABC Primetime is showing a story about the book and the legend right now. It's called Jesus, Mary and DaVinci.

Did anyone catch Dan Brown (the author) on Good Morning America? I only saw the end of it, but he was saying that there are 4 secret messages/codes hidden on the book cover. Now, y'all know I studied the cover. I've found one, but I don't know what it means. He's been contacted by readers regarding only one of them (probably the one I found) and I think there's going to be some kind of competition to see if anyone can figure out all four. He gave a clue as to where one of them is, but I can't figure it out. Supposedly, the first line inside the front cover flap, "While in business in Paris..." is somehow a code. The only thing that stands out to me is that the "i" in the word business seems to be bolder than the other letters. But, that may just be my book.
Also, I just finished reading "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown. I know Ideal08 was reading it too. Did you finish it? It started out very slow, but whoa, did it pick up. I enjoyed it. Has anyone else read it? Let's discuss. |

I bought it and haven't started it yet. I'll start it this weekend and try to finish it so we can discuss! |

I found out the hidden messages on the book jacket refer to the context of Dan Brown's next Robert Langdon story. Go to www.thedavincicode.com |
Whew!
It took me 2.5 hours and I missed Law and Order but I found the clues/messages. Try it--it's fun. I can't wait for the next Robert Langdon story. :D

Next I will look at the cover of The DaVinci Code to see these clues y'all talkin' 'bout.... |
has anyone read "Secrets of the Da Vinci Code"? I just bought it the other day but haven't read it yet.
|
I'm almost done with Angels and Demons. Right now I can't decide which book I like best. Side note: The next Robert Langdon mystery will deal with Masonry! After I finish reading A & D I'm gonna be starting on 'Digital Fortress' one of his first books. I'm totally hooked on the Robert Langdon series though. Very good reading!
