There was a girl in one of my freshman orientation groups who used Kaleidoscopic (don't even know if that's a word) because she was multi-faceted like a kaleidoscope....I thought it was creative...

Even if you feel like you can't relate, at least you'll get a good laugh!:D

Oh my gosh! These stories are HILARIOUS. I'm sitting here cracking up! :D
LOL at the crossdresser, the girl who only talked about hotdogs, the eye socket girl, the girl who sniffed her armpits, the pantyliner girl, etc. Tooooo funny!

Helping out the K's

Keen
King (just for the guys, sorry)
Knockout (meaning impressive)

I would proceed with caution on "kosher."

awww man

some of these stories make u go wooooooooooooooow! Did that really happen.
For all of yall who has ever been to a rush, you know how it is. From the tension, to the people, to your heart beating super fast. You want everything to be perfect so when some ask a stupid question or make some smart remark, you just want to die for them.
At my rush, it was packed beyond imaganition. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. After the Delta info was giving out some gyrl got up and asked "Yes, i want to know who is going to be our DP. Is she go haze us like they did the line before "ours". How much money does it cost, and does that include our probate outfit. Not to mention the girl had on a pink suit with green shoes, green purse and green scarf. Then she was like do yall have beef with the AKA'S cause i just wanna know. What this Delta stuff about."

omg i could have died right there on the spot. If yall could have seen the looks she was gettingggggg Well i'm pretty sure u can picture.. Man i have sooooo many other FUNNY stories but alas, i can't write them here:D ;)

Well, DAYUM that's one brave (or not so smart) person!!!!

I noticed something while reading these rush stories. What's up with folks wearing pink/green outfits to a Delta rush and vice-versa??? Are these people trying to deliberately start drama or are they sooo clueless to protocol?? I don't get it at all.

When they played this game at my rush, out of about 300 women, there was one other girl with a K name... She used Kind before me so I just used kindhearted.

Help us out... Any other good K words?

Sands, you could have been with me!

There was another K for me, too so we had "kind" and "kindhearted". I have also heard "kinetic" when there were three k's. It is a challenging letter for those games!

ttt . . .any more embarrassing rush moments.

tld221 03-16-2004 12:09 AM

how about massive babbling to members, not having anything good to say and potentially making a fool of yourself to members? talk about a scary experience!

nothing big, but the at informational i went to recently, a girl (who was sitting next to me) was wearing a white shirt and red pants. everyone looked at her, it was like a record stopped. i discreetly told her she shouldnt have worn that, and she says "i didnt know...i just came from work, and this is what i wore today."

BS is what i say. if you are that interested, you would know the "taboos" (or at least try). and then the girl was sitting next to me, so the members thought she came with me! the interested girl was so embarassed, she didnt get up not once the whole time and sat with her jacket over her lap.

another girl wore a pearls, claiming innocence, that she wore the "on a regular basis." the next time i saw her that night, the pearls were not on her neck anymore.

I'm not sure how embarassing this was for the women involved but we had the standard strange questions at our rush and just some what was ya thinking moments.

1) My chapter covers outlying cities in about a sixty mile radius and most folks didn't know that till the rush but we had women that traveled from another city with an ACTIVE chapter to attempt to submit there.

2) At least two people wanted to know, apparently weren't listening to each other, how soon they needed to have their money together to give to the chapter. They got the standard, 24 hours after we call you response.

3) This isn't to knock anyone as my chapter hadn't had rush since 1999 but if you look about five minutes away from delivering your child you may want to stay home.

Jill1228 03-16-2004 04:48 AM

LMAO at some of these stories. And why come do some folx wear pink and green to a DST event or crimson and cream to an AKA (or any other GLO) event?

It makes you wanna ask "what the hayle are they thinking?"

Then this woman walked in she was at least 45..in a pink and green sweat suit (to Formal Rush).. hair all over her head etc,
she proceeded to be loud and crazy the entire time

Another year a girl came with pink nail polish with ivy leaves airbrushed across then--and then proceeded to tell us why she did not like the AKA's at one of our sister campuses in the same city!!!

One lady wanted to sell Mary Kay and told us about her intentions to be more active in the grad chapter (she was also in her 40's)

and my all time favorite.... AKA? Also Known As What?

Soror, you have to be kidding me!
Sweat suits? Mary Kay sales? Also Known As?

I think that I'm most upset at the Mary Kay lady. I would hope that at least a 40 year old would know better than that!

Shaking my head,
SC
