Miss Americas from Oklahoma
 

This year's Miss Oklahoma is not only Greek, she is a student at Oklahoma City University, a small, private Methodist college that is known for producing Miss Americas. Shawntel Smith was the latest in 199? I don't know if she was Greek.

Susan Powell, Miss America 1980 was a very strong GDI, but also a Kappa Sigma Starduster.

Jane Jayroe, Miss America 1968, was an Alpha Chi Omega.

I think there was another somewhere in there, but I can't remember for sure.

Pretty good for a school with less than 5,000 students and sorority totals of less than 40 don't you think?

OCU was robbed sometime in the early 1990's or late 1980's when Miss Colorado and Miss Arkansas were both OCU students and made it into the finals, but missed being numero uno. I'm still trying to block that memory.

We Oklahoma Methodists know to pay close attention when Miss Oklahoma is from OCU. Good luck to Gamma Phi Beta!

I can't wait....what channel is it on? I haven't seen any previews or advertising for the contest, so I didn't even know it was coming up until I saw this thread! :)

Are we still going to try and do a live-time chat, and will that "ruin" the surprise for us west-coasters? I don't really mind, it'll still be fun to chat with everyone and see what they think, but if it's not being shown live across the country, then us west-coasters won't be seeing the images you east-coasters will!
