9/15... ouch!
A lot of them I narrowed the answer down to 2 & then picked the wrong one! A lot of stuff that I know I've seen mentioned or discussed & just couldn't remember. I got all of the KKG stuff 'cause that's my biological sis's sorority. ;) |
You scored: 9 / 15
Total points: 90 The average score for this quiz: 7 / 15 |
Score: 11/15
I think that's pretty damn good, considering there were no d phi e questions there :) Who knew that AOPi had no crest? You go girls :) H |

Shields and Crests After years of discussions at Convention, Alpha Omicron Pi adopted the established policy and tradition that the Fraternity which has an essentially Greek heritage and not one of medieval or Masonic background would never have a shield or crest as a symbol. Our feeling of reverence and as a protection of our one sign, the monogram of our essential motto, is established as traditional. Any decal or other symbol resembling a crest or shield should not be purchased. Source: http://www.alphaomicronpi.org/conten...tageframe.html |
Wow! 13/15!! Pretty outstanding for someone who isn't in an NPC sorority!!
The two that I got wrong were the "youngest sorority" question (I was going to pick the one which was correct and then changed my mind. Doh!) and the "how many out of the 26 orgs don't use roses, carnations or violets as a flower?" Puh-lease who gets that question right off the top of their head?? :) :) .....Kelly :) -- Now I don't want to hear a peep out of anyone who says that alumnae initiates aren't as knowledgeable!! :p Sha-zam!!!! |
10/15 - yeah I'm above average :).

CutiePie, thanks for sharing that wonderful fact about AOII with everyone! Where other groups use a crest, we use our beautiful rose. Back when I was in college, the college bookstore sold something that looked suspiciously like shot glasses (remember, I pledged 20 years ago!) with a fake AOII shield/crest thing on them. They wondered why we never bought them up with all the other sorority and fraternity items sold like hotcakes.
Back when I was in college forever ago, a local fast food restaurant right next to campus had a wooden plaque on a back wall with all of the crests of the NPC, NIC and NHPC groups at Louisville. I loved looking at everyone's crests (and the greeks were always sitting in and around that booth!) but our rose was so distinctive surrounded by everyone else's crests. Too cool! Once in a while you'll see some goofy 'shield' looking thing with AOII in the middle on E-bay. Ugh. Christin ETA: Thought it was worth noting how long ago I went to college. I'd guess you can't purchase items today that look suspiciously like shot glasses with any reference to a GLO. |
12/15. I didn't know the youngest (thought it was TPA) or which was the oldest to have a Greek letter name (thought it was Kappa) and I just took a wild shot at the flower question.
AOIIAlum, I know the fake AOII crest you're talking about! It's gray with the letters in red, right? That's what they used at Auburn when I was there and then my daughter informed me when she pledged that y'all don't use a crest. I haven't seen the fake crest decal for years, just a red rose. |
I swear I can't remember the color combination of the thing, but it was a shield with the letters on it, and then some swirly type leafy type things on the right and left side. I haven't seen it in ages either.

I got 14 out of 15 -- my wrong answer was DPhiE instead of SDT.
However, I noted that the quiz is about "Panhellic" sororities. It should be about "Panhellenic" groups. |
I was worried....
...that I would not get them all right seeing as how I created a Panhel Jeopardy game several years ago -- look at my bio -- I am a Panhel trivia GEEK! -- I am happy to report I got 15/15!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D |
