It's bread. When placed on a dinner table during a feast, it looks like a pound cake. The exterior is "hard", but the interior is just like a homemade roll/bread (it tastes like the rolls from ryan's, golden corral, o'charley's). I don't know where it came from. My aunt got the recipe from a colleague and made it one holiday. It became a "hit" and was part of the menu for years until she passed away.

Why is it called monkey bread? I do not know.

Why is it everytime she mentioned Monkey bread I made the sound that she made....that was funny.

In defense of Queen's love interest (actor Djimon Hounsou), I don't think his story line was written well. Djimon can and has done better in the past with other roles.

Overall, I was dissappointed with the movie and I felt the writers, director, producers, etc tried to distract the audience from noticing the poor storyline by placing a lot of pretty people (Djimon, the male hairdresser, Keisha's friend that the hairdresser knocked out) in the movie.

I personally found the movie humorous. I loved Catfish Rita (Sheryl Underwood). I wasn't going to expect something along the likes of A Beautiful Mind. I wanted something comedic and that's what it gave. JMO though.

The Showtime Series will premiere in August.

I didn't like it :( then again I wasn't a fan of the Soulfood series either. What is it with Showtime trying to turn every other good black movie into a series? Leave the movies be!

I didn't order Showtime. I guess I had a change of heart. I will just stick with the movies.

Behind HBO, Showtime is the WORST movie channel. I am getting rid of both after this month :mad:

Last nights episode was a hott mess!

The "Terry" character is so over the top. The Michael Ealy's character calls EVERYONE B*%^&! :rolleyes: Calvin's wife has more of a role. She's received her certificate in Hot/Rest Mgmt, but she swears she's Dr. Phil. :o She's kind of an airhead. :confused:

I'll try one more episode. If I don't like it, I'll get rid of Showtime. QAF is over, so I don't need it anymore.

I ONLY had Showtime to see Soul Food. HBO and Cinemax are far better. But currently I have none of the premiums.

Ooh wow, and I was feeling bad because I fell asleep watching only the last 10 minutes of it. Even from what I did catch of it, there is a lot of work that needs to be done. A WHOOOOLLLEEE LOT:o
