The best gift(at least the one I think was the best) was a 12 month calendar with pictures of places we went together in Europe when we went on a trip there. I got it made at Kinko's for like 20 bucks.

He says the best one I got him was his new computer monitor(got that the same year)

The Best Gift in the World

Give him a 3-way with you and a hot lady friend. It won't even cost you anything.

My boyfriend is getting a down comforter, an ADIDAS bag for his soccer stuff, and the original 130 episodes of the He-Man cartoon (from the 80's) on DVD. I can't wait to see his face when he opens the DVD's! He's going to be so excited and so are a few of his fraternity brothers! :p

A nice scarf

Books

A massage gift certificate

A cool lighter--if he smokes, get his letters and initials engraved

A beta fish--requires virtually no maintenance

Something with my letters (shorts, usually)

Concert tickets

A nice watch (think fossil)

Donations in their name (a cool one is adopting an animal at your local zoo, and then you two can go visit it...also see charitygift.com)

Instant lottery tickets

A nice dinner

Beer-of-the-month club

Stop calling him your man. Use boyfriend. He'll appreciate it I think.

But boyfriend sounds so highschool. ;)

A pen seems too impersonal to give to my boyfriend.

Not if it's a good fountain pen. Go with Waterman, Mont Blanc or Tiffany. Perhaps one of them can do a rapid-fire engraving.

Or a sterling-silver keychain.

Or a night at a really nice hotel in the city or inn in the country for the both of you.

I'd go with a Montblanc or a Cartier - there are collectible pens out there but I don't think he'd appreciate them.

I was looking at Waterman pens online. There is a dealer nearby so all hope is not lost. My sister received one as a gift from a former boyfriend a few Christmases ago. She treasures it.

A pen as a gift just reminded me of "Say Anything" when Lloyd Dobler says, "She gave me a pen. I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen."
