At first I thought the BF was INSANE when he told me this, then I tried it and it wasn't so bad.

Mac n Cheese with those spanish olives stuffed with pimentoes. It seems odd, but yet tasty.

I used to take the cold cuts off my sandwich and eat them seperate from the bread with mayo.

Mayo(only true french mayo, american has too much oil) on any vegetable, esp. ripe tomatoes, yUM!

Honey wheat thins with onion and chive cream cheese.

 WOW  I can't believe I made it through this thread!!

I am seriously the pickest eater you will ever meet. (or not meet since I haven't met really anyone from gc ;) )

I do have a crazy one for you that my little brother does. (I almost barf everytime he does it, and it isn't nearly as bad as half the stuff you all mentioned)

He takes scrambled eggs (which i hate) and hash browns and mixes it all together with grape jelly and ketchup!!! It looks so nasty in person ~I don't know how he does it.

Lima beans and beets are two weird foods that I like. :)

Now I feel like a really wierd eater around these parts.

I grew up on grits and sausage gravy and stuff, and of course the saurkraut and the bratwurst and all that good German food. We do this thing with salted pickles, sour cream and a little sugar, too, that's good. I love fried bologna, cold baked bean sandwiches, lemon and peppermint sticks, hardboiled eggs, tomatoes with mayo on them, cold hot dogs, fried pickles, ramen noodle coleslaw. And let me tell you about Skylite blue snowballs in the little styrofoam cups with marshmallow on them. That's definitely a Baltimore thing. When I went to college, deli food of any kind became a foregin delicacy to me. I love lox and tongue and any kind of schmeer you bring in. I'll eat it and love it. Gifilte fish is alright, too, and I love borscht.

My father's side of the family is Portuguese, right? So anyone from New England, especially the MA and apparently CT areas know we eat some really random shit. Lunguisa, a kind of orange sausage, enguia which is eel that's quick fired after being marinated in garlic, oil and vinegar. Lots of sweetmeats at the holidays, and we pick lobster clean, brains and everything. We won't eat mussles, though. That's bait. I love sweet bread with a big old hard boiled egg in the center, and my grandmother, God rest her, used to make every kind of fish possible. I don't even know the names of half of what I ate as a kid. I miss really good arroz e galinha, though. And you can't get enguia down here in Maryland....*sigh*

Hmmm

This thread is GREAT!! I love weird food combo's...especially around that time of month ;)

-Cool Ranch Doritos dipped in strawberry jelly
-pretzel poppers dipped in pralines and cream icecream
-rice with french dressing drizzled on it
-crackers with cheese and strawberry jelly...i didnt think this was odd til my roomate came in and was like EWWWWW...but its so yummy
-fried bologna with ketchup
-plain pasta with butter and ketchup

-i am not a fan of plain "original" potato chips...so i like to take a chocolate chip cookie and make a cookie and chips sandwich...

-anything that is a combo of sweet and salty is yummy to me :)

MoonStar17 07-23-2003 02:49 PM

I decided to bring this old thread back up..cause my roomie told me how gross what i am eating is..and its very yummy to me..so i decided to post it here as one of the foods i hate to admit i love :)

white rice, with a scrambled egg on top..with a lil spot of ketchup mixed in...its like chineese rice without the other stuff...lol it sounds alot grosser than it is

annniesk 07-23-2003 02:59 PM

frosted flakes and sweetpickles! I discovered this after a night out, when I was so hungry that I had lunch on one side of my tray and breakfast on the other. I was so tired I didn't pay attention and took a bite of both. It sounds gross but it makes it both sweet, crunchy and tangy! It's not something I eat all the time, but I get cravings for it once in a while, especially after going out!

adpishan 07-23-2003 03:50 PM

This is stuff that people had told me how gross that sounds, but I love it...

-In-N-Out fries dipped in my chocolate shake
-Pickled Okra
-Cottage Cheese with pineapple chunks mixed in
-Corned beef & hash
-Chocolate coke / my grandpa's brother tried to get me to drink pepsi & milk, but I just can't...
-Raw Onion - like when you are chopping them up, just eat a piece... yumm
-Aligator sausage - first time I had this was in a dish from House of Blues
-Buffalo burgers
-Tofu nachos

and I am sure there are more that I can't think of... and some people say that I am a picky eater... ;)

Dionysus 07-23-2003 05:48 PM

Kinda unrelated, but when I'm not that hungry I sometimes order from the children's menu.

MeLikey 07-23-2003 07:06 PM

Sushi- love love love it!
Lox- I never thought that was weird

For all those who love cookie dough, I think it's one of the grossest things you can eat! I once started to eat cookie dough ice cream because I thought it was cookies and cream. The stuff grossed me out, I thought the cookies and cream ice cream had gone bad til I looked at the box. And I can't imagine ever licking the remnants of cookie dough after baking cookies.

Has anyone ever had chocolate pecan popcorn? It may not sound weird to you all but when I was on vacation in LA I bought several bags of it at the Farmer's Market-- loved it and I wish I knew what brand it was so I can order some!
