The Virgin Suicides.
pbpck, I took your advice and checke i out....disturbing tosay the absolute least....ad while the storyline isn't so confusing, I was quite shocked that they would comit suicide. The man working at Blockbuster tried to convinceme tofind another movie because VS was the worst film he'd ever seen in his entire life, but he als mentioned he was disgusted with the other VS, Vanilla Sky. I'll try to write soon, I've just been busy doing nothing important. Cory |

The Mothman Prophecies was also a pretty disturbing film that completely freaked me out. One of my sisters was so scared after seeing that film that she wanted me to hang out with her until she fell asleep that night we saw it. Poltergiest (the one with Tom Skerrit and it took place in the hotel) scared the heck out of me when I was younger too. Oh who am I kidding, if I saw it today, I would probably still be too afraid to watch it. |

I loved Vanilla Sky AND the Virgin Suicides. The trick to fully understanding the latter is to read the book...I did that between viewings and it helped out a lot. American Beauty is also one of my favorites, and I really need to watch A Clockwork Orange. Disturbing--yes, but also thought-provoking. Not a bad combo.
Kids is WICKED disturbing. What's even scarier is that I have friends from NYC who know the kids who were in it. It's not a far-off fantasy from some of their lifestyles, allegedly. |

When I was little The Care Bears Movie freaked me out too...that wicked woman's face in the book was freaky! I also used to be scared of some parts of The Wizard of Oz. I was absolutely devastated after watching For the Boys...I saw it when I was younger and I don't even remember the premise...all I remember is that it made me truly ponder death...and I had the most awful feeling in the world after seeing it because I'm absolutely terrified of death. A Time to Kill is disturbing because of its strong racist characters. After I saw Arlington Road, I thought now THAT'S DISTURBING (especially the last scene). |
Stephen King's It scared the shitoutta me. Scary scary movie.
BlackHawk Down left me drained and looking at the situation like a mini-Viet Nam. Sad sad movie. Showgirls is absolutely terrifying. I didn't know they could release such awful movies on such a broad scale. Jessie, you showed such potential at Bayside H.S. |

That is exactly how I felt after I saw Arlington Road. After it was over I just sat there in awe... I would have never guessed that's how that movie would end!! |
Arlington Road,
Very disturbing but good! When I was a kid the movie The Lion, THe witch and the Wardrobe freaked me out...I think it was the half man/half horse guy that really got me! Also, I liked Virgin Suicides, very dark and disturbing, but really makes you think. Also 8 mm made you think too, I loved Nicolaus Cage (before he married lisa marie) |
I thought that Blair Witch was *really* scary.
Probably the movie that I found the most disturbing was Roger & Me. That movie freaked me out like no other. |
Okay, here's my list of creepiest movies:
Jeepers Creepers Sister My Sister The Green Mile American Beauty I have more, but I can't remember them right now. |
disturbing
Boys Don't Cry has a very disturbing rape scene and the new movie Rules of Attraction was wack-o!!!!!!!! suicide, drug deals gone wrong...Dawson? I can't really see him as he is portrayed in this movie.\
The Shining and Pet Semetary are movies I get chills watching no matter the timeof day! |
Last night I watched "Once Were Warriors" again...don't know if any of you have seen it...but it's a film directed by Lee Tamahori from New Zealand. That movie has to be one of my most favorite, but at the same time it's disturbing because of all the domestic violence/incest that takes place.
A few days ago I saw "The Ring"....yeah, watching videos will never be the same. |
