There's actually a good reason for that... You'll find most people are camera shy.. I'd imagine if I was at the aftermath scene of a tornado, interview prospects would be slim pickins.

I hate when people say "dirty jersey or dirty jerz"...it just pisses me off. I met a guy on vacation who thought that I should have a "north carolina like east coast accent"...yea...cuz the last time i checked north carolina was right next to jersey:rolleyes:

It isn't called the garden state for fun...it really is a great place to live...and its right near nyc...without having to actually live there.

I live outside of philly and have family and friends in NJ. I would say NJ 98% does not smell...the 2% that does is in and around Newark Airport, which you don't want to roll your windows down anyway! And I can't say much bc around philly's airport it stinks too!
and there are some fabulous places in jersey to live and visit!

I'm from South Carolina, and I love me some grits, bbq ribs, any kind of meat, cornpone, salted-peanuts-in-an-RC-cola, Moonpies, country music, men in tight jeans who can wear it well, a good cowboy hat, the smell of gardenias on a summer night, guys who stand up when you come to the table (melt), and hometown celebrations like the Mullet Festival (yes, we did have this back home) with contests like Ugliest Dog in Town.

Damn, I miss the South.

Yeah I get all sorts of stuff because I'm from Canada. I do get "hey do you know so and so", or "it must be pretty cold up there,"...yeah it's freezing in August. And I got this one, "you speak english very well for a Canadian"

Also I'm from Toronto, so I get asked if I know people from Toronto, but I only get that from people living in small towns.

I agree! As much as I like to rip on my friends from Jersey (and they rip on me from being from PA), it really is a nice state. I was considering moving there for awhile and I may in the future.

Philadelphia does have a distinct odor, mostly near the river.

BTW, I am from Pennsylvania and I am not amish, nor have I ever met anyone who is amish. That's pretty much the only stereotype I can think of right now.

OK. Just got back from our regional converence at Michigan State this weekend, and EVERYTIME I ask someone where they're from, they would extend their hand, and showed me the palm and pointed to a certain area at the palm. Huh?

And adding to that, brothers from Toronto DID say ".....eh?" a lot, really typical Canadian. ;)

I haven't read through this whole thread, so this may have been mentioned, but here goes:

I'm from So. California, and out-of-staters (with the exceptions of Nevada and Arizona, which are basically the same as California in my opinion) almost always ask if I live in LA. Like LA covers ALL of SoCal... bugs me, but they tend to understand when I tell them 60 miles east...

People don't believe it when Californians said they live or have lived on a farm (I spent the first few years of my life on a chicken farm)... obviously they've never been to Riverside county, or any other rural part of the state... hi, drive up the 5 towards NorCal... visit Bakersfield, Modesto, and Turlock on the way... then tell me there aren't any farms in California.

I also get the "do you like surfing" question, the "do you like wheatgrass" question, and the "do you know any celebrities" question... NO, NO, and NO!

That was cute. Yea we have lots of farms. But I live in Modesto, and have never lived on a farm....:p

B) Actually he lives up the block from me but he is a dick and chases the guys from the cable company off his property after he calls THEM to come make repairs. And Scottie Pippen used to live in my neighborhood but he beat his girlfriend and the apt. complex kicked him out.

Not sure about California as "the leading agricultural state" after seeing Iowa and Idaho (or even Texas). "Aggies" is a nickname for Texas for reason. I'm not even sure whether Cali has an agriculture college!
For fact, I am sure Iowa is the leading corn production state. ;)
