Good question... I'm assuming that you're talking about do-it-yourself pregnancy tests. They're a lot more accurate than they used to be. Nowadays, you can pretty much rely on the results if you take the test one week after you've missed a period or longer. However, it is always smart to visit your doctor, regardless of what that little stick says. :)

Actually, it DOESN'T matter what time you take the pill every day, as long as you take it. My doctor told me that it's BEST to take it at the same time everyday, but if you slip up by a few hours, you're fine. It's just when you start skipping days at a time is when you're in trouble.

"Ragging it"? Is that appropriate?

You just said "slip up by a few hours" which means that it does matter what time it is taken. If you took it a noon one day and then at say 11 p.m. the next day, that is more then a "few hours." I say this because a friend of mine never once skipped a day but she always took it at different times, and well, you know what? She's now almost seven months pregnant.

my mom is a doctor and she told me yes, you are supposed to take the pill the same time everyday. if you do happen to miss it, you have a 4 hour time frame in which you need to take it in order for it do what it is supposed to do. if youre sexually active, and you skip your pill, all your ob/gyn asap and tell them and see about the morning after pill...

Isn't that essentially what I just said? By "the same time" I was referring to the exact time. My first year on the Pill, I was worried that if I took it at 1:35 instead of 1:30, that I was ruined. My physician simply eased my concerns. Boh.

NO, that isn't essentially what you just said? Did you not read what you posted previously? If not, here, I will quote it for you.

Note here, that what you thought you esentially said, you didn't esentially say, you are basically contradicting yourself. In your first post the one I quoted second you say "Actually, it DOESN'T matter what time you take the pill every day, as long as you take it." You go on to say, "but if you slip up by a few hours, you're fine." That means that it can and does depend on the time you take it....if that's not what you meant, maybe you should have said, "it doesn't matter what time you take it as long as you take it within a few hours of your regular time." Because saying that it doesn't matter when you take it, as long as you take it, doesn't mean that.

Second, in your first post, you never stated anything about "the same time." You simply stated what I just said above, about it not mattering. If you meant to say the "same time" referring to "the exact time" (which you said neither) you should have stated it.

So to end with answering your question after showing your faulted argument, no, you didn't esentially just say that.

You stated two completely different things.

Quick question to the "sex-perts" who've posted on this topic--

I took the depo shot for about a year and stopped getting periods. Around January I stopped taking it and have not had a period yet. My bf and I had sex this past weekend with a spermicidal condom but it temporarily got "lost". We found it after about 5-10 minutes of searching. Can I still get pregnant?
:confused::confused:

Corbin Dallas 07-09-2002 11:24 AM

There's ALWAYS a risk of getting pregnant, no matter what method you're using, unless it's abstinance. that's a fact. There's a slightly higher risk if the condom was "lost" but you should still be better off than if you used nothing at all

hmmm i wonnder,

That's exactly why my girlfirend didn't get depo provera. Those monthly reminders tell you that everything's okay!
