I'm stealing Kitso's format, but I'm sure he doesn't mind. ;)

Light beer: Bud Light without a doubt

Dark beer: Shiner Bock and Dos Equis Amber (an import)

Import: DOS EQUIS LAGER my # 1 beer!!!

I'm sorry but Bud Light is so nasty!!!

I like Guiness, Rickards Red, or Kilkenny...if that isn't available I usually drink Canadian or Blue Light (although Blue is nasty too).

Rickards Red is great....a better version of Killians, but I don't think they sell it in the states.

I'd go back to Montreal just to get a case of it.

Cider Beer!

I'm a big fan of woodchuck and leinenkugel's berryweis (though that's a seasonal beer).

Anyone a fan of beer mixes like Black & Tans?

I'm a big fan of the original Black and Tan (Guinness and Bass), but I know that Saranc makes a very good bottled Black and Tan

I went to Old Chicago's a couple of weeks ago and they offer several mixes with Guinness: Woodchuck Cider, Light Beers, Dark Beers and also one mixed with Pyramid Apricot Ale. Out of curiousity we had to order one and it was really good. Who knew!

Beer Snob

No domestics for me. :)

Having lived in Italy for a time, I got used to Peroni and Moretti. A bit darker than the watered-down pee they serve at parties here. Sometimes you can find some classy folks who will serve Magic Hat and Blue Moon, but I end up usually bringing my own bottles. I like Chimay and Red Stripe a lot. I was much less discriminating my freshman year--I actually drank Schlitz and Genny Lite. Yikes.

Mr. Munchkin03 likes Guinness a lot, but I can't handle it. He also mixes his own black and tans.

But, I really don't do beer that much...I don't go to fraternity parties anymore, and the bars and parties that I DO attend usually have more options as to drinks. No one's buying the $8.99 24-pack much anymore.

Can't drink domestic p*sswater anymore, ever since I spent time in Germany in the latter days of the Cold War and got used to German beer. Well... with the probable exception of probably Sam Adams, Shiner Bock and some microbrews.

Partial to the local brew of Bitburg and Spangdahlem air bases -- Bitburger Premium Pils. They've been brewing only one kind of beer since 1817, and that's their famous pilsener (though they now have a light and a non-alcoholic version as well).

Some other German beers worth checking out:

Warsteiner - Bitburger's competition, not as 'hoppy' as Bitburger.

Parkbrau 'Pirminator' - High-octane seasonal beer made in the city of Pirmasens near the French border. Word to the wise... this beer WILL f*ck you up. Not very well known outside its local area, but the legend of its potency survives by word of mouth of current and former US servicemen stationed in Germany. (I drank two 'mortar shells' (what we called the 1/2 liter bottles) and was completely blotto in no time. No wonder they call it the 'Terminator'! :D)

EKU 23 Doppelbock - Another high-octane brew, this is relatively easy to get in the States.

Dutch beers

If you like Heineken, the domestic version tastes a LOT better than the export version sold here. Amstel Light's not bad either.

Belgian

I'll go for many of the krieks and lambics (the fruit-flavored beers). Very good, and if you drink one too many, you'll find out real quick!

British ales and Irish stouts

My goodness, my Guinness! :D

Can't go wrong with a good pint of bitter. And a half-and-half works well for me too.
