She LOVED her first party. Cried. Felt the conversation was great with girl she was paired with - who she had been paired with before.

She has invitations, and THAT'S a huge positive! Hang in there. Is it time for a libation where you're at? Here, if you had one, you'd be an alcoholic!

To echo everyone else, good luck to all your daughters today! And thanks for being so willing to share with us.

Another house that she thinks she could be happy in and the only house she has been to that she has not felt a connection with, hmmm. She will have some decisions to make tonight. I advised to try to look at house three with fresh eyes, see if there is something there she missed before, then go with her gut. It's a make it work moment.

Thanks for all the support and great advice everyone! Celebrating with those of you who had daughters at Pref day today. Our daughter also had 3 houses. Exactly the same situation as NUalumMUmom--the house she fell in love with from day one, plus a house she really likes, and another where she hasn't felt a connection. So she has an important choice ahead.

Wonderful to connect with other Moms here. I can't believe what an emotional, exhausting week this has been for me. I knew it might be that way for our daughter but I didn't anticipate how intensely it would impact me.
Whatever happens I know that putting herself out there in this way during recruitment has been such an important step in making her own life at Mizzou. Best of luck to all of our daughters!

I am just very proud of my daughter, no matter what happens. It was a long and hot week and props to all girls who go out and respect the process - even those who chose to drop out. Each girl has to make her own decisions about what is right for her. Good luck to your girls, NUalumMUmom and WalkintheWoods, as they make their choices. I hope MUMom - your daughter's chapter gets a wonderful new group of girls/young women tomorrow. And thanks to the other ladies for your clarifications and encouraging words.

Thanks to all for their support. My daughter is in a good place tonight, she had a conversation with her Pi Chi before preferencing and is at peace with her decision, no matter the outcome. I hope to hear good news tomorrow and hope the best for the daughters of NorthernMom and WalkintheWoods, too. Cheers, ladies!

Have enjoyed reading these stories!! Good luck to all during this very exciting time!!!

No phone call this morning so that is good! Very interested to hear where our daughter will be pledging. Hope all of your daughters are feeling well this morning.

Anxious to learn where your daughters will call home!

Lovemybulldog 08-24-2014 11:03 AM

Such wonderful news this morning, WalkintheWoods! She is going to have such a fun day!

NorthernMom 08-24-2014 11:11 AM

No call here either, and I believe all calls were supposed to have been completed over 2 hours ago. So, she is anxiously waiting to go to the columns/quad. I did not sleep well at all last night/early morning!

NUalumMUmom 08-24-2014 11:17 AM

No phone call for my daughter either!

WalkintheWoods 08-24-2014 11:25 AM

Hooray NorthernMom and NUalumMUmom!! So happy that all of our daughters will be at the quad this morning! I wish someone would be doing a live stream LOL. I have had trouble sleeping myself too NorthernMom, for the last few nights. This week I am resolved to disengage a bit and focus more on my own life--I need to actually get some work done!! I've also been grateful for the close connection with my daughter this week. Classes start tomorrow and she will need to dive in and will begin to settle into the many other sources of support she has now on campus, which is entirely appropriate. And, I'm going to really look forward to that text or phone call or photo today letting me know where she is!

Thanks to all those who've been sharing the process, and to the alums and Moms of actives who've been offering words of encouragement. It's been so lovely connecting with you all!

:) Thank you Lovemybulldog!

This entire process is grueling for both sides. NorthernMom is right. Congrats to all the girls on making decisions that are right for them, Greek or not. Here's hoping all the girls that find homes are eagerly looking forward to becoming part of something that will be special for them. For those that don't, find different ways to become a part of an amazing college life at Mizzou.
