MissouriFan, I'll be more explicit than my Panhellenic sisters have been. Assuming that Mizzou uses RFM (which I assume they do, along with almost every other campus), then every chapter has DIFFERENT release figures they will abide by according to their relative performance.

So, either these numbers are, as others have said, made up according to your own calculations, OR you are disclosing private chapter information that only applies to one of the chapters at Mizzou. Those familiar with the process would be able to make some assumptions based on the numbers you provided.

Lastly, disclosing the release numbers for a specific chapter can be extremely misleading to PNMs and moms going through the recruitment process right now. RFM works so well because it carefully calculates everything so as to maximize the placement of PNMs into new homes!

I'm not entirely sure MissouriFan's numbers were completely off base, considering Mizzou had two more rounds after that (philanthropy and preference) and they had to reduce 1900 PNMs to "around" 100. I also realize regardless of whether those numbers are accurate or not, she should have kept that information to herself. However, is it necessary to spew venom and make snarky comments? Let's assume she's a mom/grandma/aunt whatever whose daughter was keeping her updated (right or wrong) and she didn't realize it was a no-no to put those stats on here. I think there is a friendly way to let her know that. There's really no need for profanity or reprimands. If you read her comment, it did not seem mean spirited in the least.

Lovemybulldog I agree. I assume that the person posting didn't realize she was committing a faux pas. I hope that for the most part everyone on here has good intentions. Best of luck to everyone who is going through recruitment this week, whether as a PNM, active, alum supporting a chapter or a loved one riding the recruitment roller coaster.

Are there new words that are profanity???? Because I didn't see any.

Well bless your heart LoveMyBullDog. If this exchange is "spewing venom" and "profanity" then you should probably back away from the intrawebs.

No. Please, just NO. Just stop. And there wasn't any profanity or reprimanding, so you can let that go too.

I do not assume that. Membership selection is private. Someone is shooting off their mouth, and shouldn't be.

The LAST thing we need is a whole lot of gossip/misinformation/rumors being spouted as fact.

I'm quoting myself. Hello? Did MissouriFan bother to READ what I wrote, which was two posts above hers? Seriously annoyed now.

ETA: AFAIK, release figures for each chapter are never made public.

And usually only a few in the chapter, along with the alumnae advisors are in the know with actual numbers.
